"Them" in TNA turning out to be Fortune rather than the MEM (albeit due to changed plans) was a pleasant surprise.

It's not on the same level as the nWo or anything, but Ricky Steamboat unmasking from the Dragon costume to reveal himself as Dustin Rhodes' mystery partner at Clash XVII has always been one of my favourites, just for Arn and Larry's reactions: "NO! NO! NO! NOT RICKY STEAMBOAT!!!!" "He's just a man!" Arn staring at his tag title and gently rubbing it before he handed it to the ref as if it was the last time he'd touch the belt was also a nice touch. Staying with Steamboat-in early 1989 when Eddie Gilbert promised a mystery partner to help him face Flair and Windham, and then "Sirius" by The Alan Parsons Project played, that was sooo cool!

Hogan being the third man is one of the best but since it's already taken I'll go with Eric Bischoff being revealed as the RAW GM. Apparently it was a shock even to the wrestlers and I doubt any fan would ever expect Bischoff to turn up in the WWE. Speaking of Bischoff, him be revealed as the minister for Billy and Chuck's wedding was fantastically done aswell.

In SMW The Rock and Roll Express need a partner to go up against the super group of Tom Pritchard, Stan Lane and Bobby Eaton with Jim Cornette. But whos under the sheet? www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6kNcoM1qOQ

Not sure if it counts as a mystery, but Edge's cash in at New Year's Revolution 2006 was an excellent surprise and put Edge over the top as a main event star.

Does Cena returning at #30 count? Considering no one had a clue who was 30 after Triple H came out

Does Cena returning at #30 count? Considering no one had a clue who was 30 after Triple H came out IDK, if that can count. It's not like they built it up as a mystery. It certainly was a surprise though. Hats off to WWE on that one for being able to keep that hushed in the Internet age.

And a totally legitimate reaction by Cornette. Hell, a proper reaction to that in 1993 would be soiling oneself.

Hogan as the third man. Nothing else really comes close.

I mark for Rick Rude as the WCW Halloween Phantom.
