Yes, the 10th Friday the 13th film where the iconic horror character Jason Voorhees ended up in space with a brand new uber-body had FOUR sequels... all books. The complete and total bafflement of this discovery has left me with an innate desire to share with this forum. I highly doubt most, or all of you, would care to read this post, let alone these novels...but here we go anyway.
...Warning....Insanely long post...especially when considering the topic at hand...
The original film had a novelization by Pat Cadigan (who typically writes in a cyberpunk sci-fi). You can find it on Amazon for $73. Reviews seem to indicate that it follows the movie for the most part, a few changes here or there.
At the same time the novelization appeared in bookstores, so did the first sequel:
Jason X: The Experiment is also by Pat Cadigan. Here's the plot for it:
Yeah, Taking Jason Voorhees and essentially making someone like him....wait, are they cloning him? Always a great idea. HorrorMovie Book Scientists are idiots.
Then there's the next book...
Jason X: Planet of the Beast by Nancy Kilpatrick (better known for vampire novels but does stay in the realm of horror)
The plot:
Okay...Yeah, they are definitely taking Jason Voorhees and cloning him. Always a great idea. HorrorMovie Book Scientists are idiots.
We follow this up with
Jason X: Death Moon by Alex Johnson (who I have no real information on beyond because I'm not sure if the book sites are combining the works of multiple Alex Johnson or if this was the same guy who wrote "Loan Processing: Career Training" and "How to Make Girls Cum: Notes from the sex manual")
Its plot:
In the year 2456, following the disaster that occurred on Planet 666, another round of government officials are assigned to create a super soldier to ensure their invincibility. Jason is captured, contained in isolation until his DNA can be properly harvested. The government re-opens their Moon base, which is now a summer camp for teenagers. Moon Camp Americana, a finishing school for wayward young girls has enough problems with its unruly charges. But a much bigger problem is coming: Jason has arrived, and the lessons he teaches will leave you in a body bag!
SUMMER CAMPS...IN SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE
Also, random spoiler from the last one for the sake of it, since its in the plot (I snuck it out, ninja style) for the 4th book:
And finally...
Jason X: To The Third Power by Nancy Kilpatrick
And...well...the plot...uhhh...
MULTIPLE JASON CLONES. WHAT THE HADES IS WRONG WITH YOU HORRORMOVIE BOOK SCIENTISTS?!
This nonsense is NONSENSICAL. Five novels on the Jason X subject. Four sequels to Jason X. Final Fantasy couldn't even pull that off with their X installment!
Perhaps the kicker to all this...all these books were out by the end of April the year after the movie and novelization debuted. Talk about just streamlining to hades and back. Dear goodness.
Okay...I feel better now. If you actually read all of this, I thank you very much.

Edit: Here's a link to the Black Flame (Publisher of these books)'s list of their Friday the 13th novels...including a prequel to Jason Goes to Hell.

Jason X: The Experiment is also by Pat Cadigan. Here's the plot for it:
In the far future, Jason Voorhees has been resurrected as an invulnerable monster. Military scientists, keen to create unstoppable super soldiers, are anxious to utilize Jason's regenerative powers and killer instinct. But Jason is no lab rat, and escapes into an underground complex to continue his murderous mission. The scientists will soon find out, to their horror, that evil cannot be harnessed and cannot be stopped.
Full of futuristic thrills, action and good old-fashioned slasher mayhem, Jason X: The Experiment proves there's only one thing worse than an unstoppable killer.
Two of them.

In the far future, the grim legend of Jason Voorhees has passed into history, his unspeakable killing sprees all but forgotten. But, on Planet 666, the sinister Doctor Bardox has discovered the comatose body of Jason and plans to clone his undead flesh to create a controllable living weapon. However, Bardox unwittingly revives the synthetic monster and soon his crew are fighting for their lives against the unstoppable Jason Voorhees.

"And what became of London Jefferson, the lost scientist who was carrying Jason's DNA in her womb?"
What the Alien Resurrection is going on in this daggone series?!

Jason X: To The Third Power by Nancy Kilpatrick
And...well...the plot...uhhh...
Twenty years after the last novel, the moon of Americana is now home to a vast prison complex holding some of the most dangerous convicts in the universe. When a team of cyber-engineers uncovers the body of an altered cybernetic Jason beneath the prison, they must fight through rioting inmates to stop the deadly monster that they have unleashed!
It becomes Prisoners vs. Scientists, Scientists vs. Scientists, and EVERYONE vs Uber-Jason...and his deadly clones.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}
Combine that with the fact that apparently London Jefferson's...son(?) Free Jefferson (YOU NAMED YOUR KID, FREE?!) still has Jason DNA in his blood.
