What if WWE simply pointed only one HD camera at the ring, no commentary, nothing else, and let Network subscribers watch house shows that way? Maybe call it "WWE On The Road" or something like that.
I think it would be cool.

Because so much of house shows nowadays are A) the same things over and over again and B) practicing spots for more prominent times.
House shows are a helluva a lot of fun to go but it just wouldn't work with what the company is now.

Maybe they should televise the MSG ones...for old time's sake.

The only reason I can see them not doing this is that house shows have become a place where guys rehearse their major matches before PPV. You don't want to give that away but it is also the top draw for house shows. Personally I'd love to see them show matches from these shows. Maybe pick and choose two matches from each tour and show those instead of a live house show.

Yeah, I saw Randy Orton vs. John Cena at a houseshow in 2007, and then I watched Summerslam that year and I felt like I had already seen that match. And before someone makes the joke, this is actually when Cena vs. Orton was a fresh match, if you can believe such a thing.

I think it's inevitable that they'll do this here and there. Allows them to promote the live shows to families watching WWE Network at home. No-brainer cross-promotion.

A lot of botches happen at house shows to and sometime wrestlers will shoot on the city's athletic teams WWE wouldn't risk showing that.

Probably not every house show should be filmed like this, but rather ones held at "major" venues like MSG and maybe one of the shows they do overseas.

I was the same with Kane vs. Chavo Guerrero at a 2008 house show for the ECW title. Exact same match the following week at Backlash, electric chair spot and all. It did have a triple threat match with CM Punk vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Tommy Dreamer that would be cool to see again.

I mainly suggested this idea since I live in an area that hasn't had a WWE house show since 2007 and, from what I hear, will never have one ever again (Newfoundland, Canada).

With so many matches given away on free TV and over played I don't see the appeal of it. Now old HS matches. Yes!!

I would consider paying double the network price for old house show footage.

I feel like a lot of the appeal of a House Show goes away without being in the live crowd.

Don't they film house shows for studying purposes or am I making that up?

Also it's where new wrestlers would wrestle before they debuted on TV or a wrestler trying a new character before debuting on TV

I'm one of the rare few lucky enough to see Krissy Vaine vs. Miss Lovin' Life Michelle McCool. I called that match "Night of 1,000 Clotheslines", because that was the only move either one could do.

Don't they film house shows for studying purposes or am I making that up? I always thought they filmed house shows as a "in case we need the footage" kind of thing for documentaries and such. Granted, they rarely actually show house show footage anywhere, but still.

I was thinking they should do a "WWE International Live" series where they filmed several international shows with a few cameras, produced it with graphics pertaining to the country, and then start trinkling them out throughout the following year as specials every so often.
They could do the USA one at MSG this way, too. And maybe they'd make sure to have special talent at these shows (i.e. Jericho in Japan, Edge & Christian segment in Canada, maybe special talent like The Outsiders having a quick final tag match or something, Triple H coming out of his semi-retirement for a show or two, Bruno having an arm wrestling match against Cesaro at MSG...etc.)

There's still some WCW House Show footage in the vault.
