So happy I didn't spend the money, tonight.
Thank goodness.

My takeaways....
Mark Munoz is DONE. He was always the guy who looked good against 20-15 guys, but a top ten would eat him alive.
Tony "Turd" Ferguson's last 3 wins = Danny Castillo, Abel Trujillo and now Gleison Tibau. Give the guy a top 10. Would love him Vs KJNoons/Masvidal
Ronda baby...you keep doing what cho' doin. She's the best, everyone else is a generation behind her(just like Mighty Mouse). I'd love her next fight to be the main event of a UFC on Fox. Who's the Brazilian girl who's beaten Ronda's two friends? Bethe Correia...great. It'll end in under a round, but would be huge ratings.

Let me get this straight: People pay around $55 (plus taxes in some places) to watch a woman beat another woman in less than a minute and people are happy about that. Food for thought.

The f*** is it to you if people pay whatever to see whatever they want? People like different things. There's no food for thought anywhere. Is this some kind of dumb sociological point you're trying to make?

People pay for the unpredictability of sports, because you never quite know what's going to happen. I paid, and I am very satisfied with what I saw. The whole show was entertaining and quite a few surprising outcomes and the main event was one of those true "oh my god" moments - I loved it.

People who pay to see Ronda Rousey fight pay for two reasons: 1. They hope that "This is the one." 2. They want to see her tear arms off her opponent's shoulders. It's the same exact reason(as someone mentioned), that people watched Tyson. They knew Tyson fights weren't going to last long. However, people just got a kick of how badly he destroyed whoever was in front of them. Again, there's no "food for thought" anywhere. That's just how it is.

I paid because I wanted to see Ronda fight. She's an attraction and you know you're going to get something special when she's fighting because she has a history of destroying opponents and the one time she seemed challenged (with Tate) it was really exciting because you thought you might be seeing history with Ronda being defeated. I would have been amazed if Cat had hit that knee she attempted and KO'd Rousey in those 14 seconds. Even as a Ronda fan it would have been such an awesome moment to be part of. It's special. I don't watch and buy all the UFC shows because not all the cards attract me to the show. Very rarely have I been disappointed when I do order and that's more than what I can say for WWE shows. I watched Battleground last year on the network for 9.99 a month and felt like they should have been paying me to watch it - the show was really bad. I pay the money for a UFC show and I know it's going to be worth it.

I feel questioning this is why wrestling doesn't draw anymore. You pay to see guys beat someone like this. If the person who wrecks everyone loses, it's an event that you missed, similar to Undertaker losing. If you see someone get destroyed, it's an insane fight that had to be seen to be believed. Plus, there's already a huge card underneath anyway and not every fight is going to be like that.

That post fight interview with Cat was so sad and awkward. Kind of wish it didn't go on as long as it did because you just felt bad for her.
Anyway, I'm hoping some new fighters can emerge in the division soon. As has been said Rousey's cleaned out the division.

How does that even work out? Shes fighting #14 Money making potential. Yeah, probably an attempt to hype her so Rousey has another opponent that can sell PPV buys. Rousey put her over in her post fight interview even. Still, Pennington made that fight too competitive for Holm to skyrocket too far.

I barely know anything about MMA at all.
Even I can see that a gameplan of...
1. Flying Knee. 2. ? ? ? 3. Profit!
...is kind of a dumb one. All that training, all those years, all those personal hardships and here finally is your chance. How about blundering in like a drunk and seeing if you get lucky?

Attendance:17,654. Attendence record for the UFC at the Staples Center. Gate: $2.675 million. Second only to Matt Hughes and Royce Gracie's gate in the venue at $2.9 Million dollars. Bonuses went to Ronda Rousey, Jake Ellenberger, Tony Ferguson, and Tim Means. Rousey pocketed $50,000 for her bonus. Ellenberger, however, topped everyone in the payroll at $136,000 to Rousey's $130,000. Of course, this is before PPV and other financial factors come into play. Ronda Rousey is expected to make upwards of seven figures when all's said and done. Attendence and GateFighter BonusesFighter Salaries

I think if I were a woman in the ring with Ronda, I'd have detachable arms so once she put me in an armbar, one arm would just come off.
As I win, I'd have my pre-made quip: "Ronda wasn't well ARMED enough to beat me!"
Of course, this plan depends upon finding a way to get detachable arms.

So, um, Ronda's pretty much gonna leave undefeated in about a year to solely do movies and things.
I don't see any reason she sticks around. Such a great run she's on.
It'll be interesting to see when she does leave, what Dana and co. do with women's fighting, if they stay the course or change it up. Cuz clearly, now more than ever, it's Ronda and everyone else.
