I'm sure it's been said in this thread a few times, I'm not going through all the pages to see if it has, but how is Bill Demott truly worth it to the WWE to keep him around through all these accusations? it's not like he's one of the greatest trainers of all time and they need his knowledge to have their students at the top of the class. He's an average worker who has no great history behind him and an apparent tough-guy attitude towards his students.
Why not bring in a guy like Bully Ray to replace him? same type of guy, less bad press around him and an actual history of being a trainer and a very good worker and promo that could actually teach people something.

I actually liked him on Tough Enough's first seasons. But you can tell just from that alone this is most likely true. I really wish this could have hit the fan years ago so he'd be long gone. It just sucks to think that Ricky Steamboat's bloodline may have been cut off. There's no telling how Richie could have done if he hadn't been injured. And he's only one story.
Demott needs to go, pronto. People need to apply as much pressure on WWE until this happens.

I already said it. Triple H wanted a drill sargent to weed people out. That's why he got the spot. Here's the difference between a drill sergeant and Bill DeMott; drill sergeants train people the way that they do because they care about the well-being of their charges after they leave their training. I surmise that DeMott does not actually care about the people he trains at all. What's everyone's favorite example of a drill sergeant? My choice, and probably most other peoples' choice as well, is R. Lee Ermey in Full Metal Jacket. Do you know why he was cast in the role? He was an honest-to-God former drill sergeant and was brought in to be a consultant on the film until Ermey convinced Kubrick he was the best choice for the role. Ermey has been upfront and honest about his training methods; he broke them down emotionally until they were tough enough to withstand his vehement verbal abuse. To him, and all other drill sergeants, training the soldiers in all of the relevant skills was easy. Teaching them to deal with the horrors of the job was the hard part. Every week Ermey and the other drill instructors would get the casualty reports from Vietnam and pray that they did not see any familiar names and then die inside a little every time they did see the name of a soldier that they trained. I don't see DeMott crying over anyone failing as a result of his training not being adequate for them to succeed at their career. If I may add my $.02 to this. I haven't talked about it in a while, but I was in a wrestling school for a while. I trained with Shannon Ballard, a guy who had a hand in training quite a few well known names through the old UPW. Two of the people I trained with went to NXT. one of them was Judas Devlin. Our classes definitely did NOT have a drill instructor. Things could get brutal every now and then, but never to the point of abuse. As hard as some drills and practices were, they always had a reason. And they were always brought about with a sense of humor and fun. Because fun and laughter builds trust, which is essential to being a successful wrestler. We were all psyched to find out Austin got signed. He's a good dude, naturally charismatic, and is a legit 6'5 or so and can pull off moves you wouldn't believe. I haven't talked to him since I left L.A. And it sucks to get the update in this manor. On the other hand, Shannon's class ran out of The Santino Bros. Dojo, and those guys absolutely WILL run you into the ground. They will drill you and drill you and drill you till you have nothing left, and will announce it to the entire class who puked and when. When you botch something you should know how to do, be prepared to hear about it, very loudly, and with many "colorful metaphors" thrown in for good measure. what they WON'T do, however, is publicly demean your character as a person. If you puke, they'll let everyone know, but in a "This motherf***er pushed himself to the breaking point, will you do the same?!?!?" Way. When you botch, you will get cursed out, but then you will get instructed, or re instructed how to do it. If you get injured, they will let you take a seat and wait to see how you're doing. If it's bad, they'll drive you to the hospital. I should say that both Santinos and Ballard classes share the "don'ts and won'ts" part of that list. But both methods bring the same effect: That we're all brothers, protect your brother, love your brother. Sooooooo, with that being said. Absolutely f*** Demott.

I remember a few years ago that picture leaked of some naked guy giving a stinkface while "training" for DeMott's amusement. Not sure of its exact origin, but it's clearly from a WWE facility. Guy alleged that there was a girl in the other corner off-camera who had to take it, too. It's easy to find online if you have the balls to search for "Bill DeMott nude".
EDIT: Apparently, the people did it as some sort of compromise to get out of training or something. Looking up stuff about him, he seems to have a lot of disparagement from talent. Trent Baretta made some kind of off-handed comment about him sexually harassing Bayley a few years ago. Tweet's deleted now, but here's what it said:
@sasazekzi @itsbayleywwe nope. She's way prettier… I don't even get sexually harassed by my strength coach.

I'm starting to think that somehow, somebody needs to get video evidence of DeMott's bullying. It's probably the only way something serious will be done.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Effort_justificationEven worse with the weird, regressive gender role stuff they got going on, too. Weathering the abuse means you're a Real Man, you're tough, you didn't quit, you value the company more than your own well-being. Demott's not a bug, he's a feature. I also love his comment about how he went through worse. It's a complete non sequitor... who cares how hard it was for him? What does that have to do with this? Jericho going through brutal, unnecessary shit is not evidence that Judas should have to, too, and it's kind of bewildering that he thinks it does.

Yeah, the only thing I'll say in DeMott's defense, and it really isn't a defense of him, more about a general principle, it's that being a star in your chosen field doesn't mean you'd make a great teacher/coach/instructor/whatever, and sometimes the guys who were crappy compared to their peers wind up being the best coaches down the road. Wayne Gretzky didn't exactly set the world on fire as a hockey head coach, did he? No, his team wasn't great to begin with, but still, some of the best coaches in various sports have been guys who were career minor leaguers, because those guys had no choice but to listen hard, work every day, and try to squeeze every ounce of talent out of themselves to even scratch at an opportunity. That's not something people who are ridiculously, naturally gifted can always relate to, so instructing becomes tougher. Exactly, let's look at a wrestling example. Finlay never reached big heights in WCW, he was TV champion, and that was the highest he got. Yet WWE made him a trainer, and he turned out gold, he helped guys like Orton and Cena, and of course he's the foundation for the golden era of the Divas. Of course in terms of ring work, Finlay obliterated DeMott.

I cannot understand how a guy can get away with this shit for so long. It's crazy how a business made up of 200+ pound tough guys that no one stands up for themselves here. I'm not even talking violence, but like, if I'm Dolph Ziggler or Rusev, and I let it be known that Bill DeMott is harassing and hurting guys, how would WWE come off looking good if they punished me for it? It's like the Bill Cosby thing, maybe it isn't what everyone says it is, but wow is it hard not to believe it's like everyone says it is. I wonder if WWE f***ed up in the long run by claiming to have investigated this because it doesn't seem to be going away, and now they can't claim that they weren't aware what was going on.

Between this and the Punk podcast stuff, Jericho seems pretty determined to divorce himself from the internet fanbase.

I kinda lost a little respect for Jericho here. He doesn't owe WWE anything. He's megastar and made his legacy. He's in a position to help make a difference, but he won't.
