I'm starting to think that somehow, somebody needs to get video evidence of DeMott's bullying. It's probably the only way something serious will be done. DeMott already knows that- hasn't it been out for a while that the Performance Center is really, really wired for video, all around the Center (so that Triple H can see EVERYTHING that goes on in the Performance Center in real time to see how people are improving)...and DeMott knows every blind spot in the Center to do his damage in, and if he can't get to a blind spot, he merely turns the cameras off before he goes off on the person?

DeMott needs to be fired. I have no reason to not believe these detailed accusations. Damn it! I was a fan of Hugh Morrus in WCW, but it seems that some people show their scummy selves when given too much power. Shows how scummy WWE still is behind the scenes and what their hypocritical "be a star" bullshit is worth.

That matters not one iota, you asshole. I don't give a flying f*** what happened with your training. Just because it happened at your wrestling school does not make it right nor does it justify it happening elsewhere. Over the past couple of years, I've found myself gradually starting to hate Jericho. Now, it's official. Chris Jericho can f*** right off.

This sounds like Chris has read a few things on Twitter, thinking Demott is being called out for being just a bit "too rough" and felt like he needed to say something, without having read the memos etc written by developmental guys. On why Demott is still around, I do wonder if he knows about a few skeletons in WWE's closet and they are afraid if they fire him, that will all come out?

I do think that's why the relationship between the McMahons and Moolah was very close too, they knew too much about the other's (alleged) dealings!

The problem is that Demott runs developmental Japanese dojo style. Allow me to explain this to those who don't know about that. The tryouts to even get accepted into the dojo consists of some of the harshest, brutal series of calisthenics known to men to weed out the wannabes from serious candidates. The few who survive the ordeal get invited into joining the dojo. Which means they give up the life they had before to move into the dojo and give 100% to training. Everyday consists of SEAL level calisthenics before they even practice the basics. Mental and physical torture are part of the regime. Injuries are the norm. Basic things like sweets and dating are outlawed. The rookies are treated like shit by some veterans and hazed & beaten unmercifully. If a rookie class has 4-6 people, only 2 make it to graduation day. So all of your fave puro and joshi wrestlers went through this torture willingly in hopes of becoming a wrestler. Demott was connected with the Power Plant which was ran dojo style so going HAM on trainees was an everyday thing. He also trained in Japanese dojos so he experienced the brutality first hand. Think of it like this: if a person is abused on a regular basis, the possibility of continuing the cycle is much stronger than someone who never been part of the lifestyle.
I know people won't like hearing this but Demott is not the worst trainer in wrestling history. Tojo Yamamoto used to train ex-football players until their bodies shut down on them. Stu Hart loved putting sugar holds on rookies just to hear them scream. Verne Gagne made rookies run miles into the Midwest snow and train in a unheated barn. Moolah pimped out her rookies to men. WWE developmental isn't Club MED but it shouldn't be the Gulag either. Folks heading into developmental have to keep in mind that WWE is going to push them to their limits and beyond while still part of NXT. Bully assholes like Demott are those chosen as trainers because of this. WWE apparently likes his drill instructor mentality because lord knows they could found another head trainer by now. Plus the folks people are naming off as potential head trainers may not want the responsibility of running the entire NXT developmental which right now is 40+ people of varying levels of experience and ability. And the decision to replace Demott rest in the hands of Triple H since the revamped NXT is his baby. Guess the old school vet in Hunter doesn't feel sympathy because a trainee is injured or got insulted.

I never thought the day would come where I'd lose respect for Chris Jericho, but here we are.
There's a difference between being tough because you want to drive a student and being tough because you're a bully. For as many horror stories that have come out of the Hart Dungeon, I doubt naked stinkfaces ever happened there.

Guess the old school vet in Hunter doesn't feel sympathy because a trainee is injured or got insulted. The difference between DeMott and Stu Hart, Verne and the other guys is that people went to train with them by choice, they weren't the only trainers you could go to to get your foot in the door at a major promotion and we're in an era where we know it's fake, most of these guys weren't even born in the days of keyfabe so injuring people just to make them respect the business isn't necessary. Many of the signings these day used their initiative to get some training on their own and those that haven't get some sense of what they're in for after a few weeks of learning the basics without the need to drop them on their heads or slapping them when they're injured, hell, they fired Jim Cornette for less. The WWE doesn't work strong style so comparing DeMott to Japanese trainers is kinda pointless too, the WWE style these days is dedicated to ensuring people go as long as they can on the road without injury and you have that fat load doing what he can to ensure people get hurt, he was the guy who had made students do hindu squats on all 4 top turnbuckles while two guys are crisscrossing and hitting the ropes, something designed to make students fall on their head when they get tired. For every dollar Demott saves the WWE in wages when he weeds people out, he costs them considerably more in surgery bills, heck, there was a point where 25 people on the FCW roster were out injured so they were paying wages for talent that would be out for months and tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills. Other people being worse back in the day doesn't make what DeMott's doing right, he's taking advantage of his position to teach people lessons that have sweet FA to do with performing in the ring. He's giving people career long injuries before they get out on the road which is just an act of pure spite and the WWE management are enabling him when the same stories surface about his behaviour time and time again. He may not be the worst trainer in history, Moolah has as much of a strangehold on that title as she did the WWF womans belt, but that doesn't make him good and it certainly doesn't mean his techniques are appropriate in the modern era.

Oh, and Jericho's in a fine position to talk - he managed to "set his own terms", which is code for "I went part-time and started doing outside stuff because I didn't want to end up like my friends who lived and breathed the dojo attitude and now live and breathe no more." It's awfully f***ing comfortable to talk about how tough it was for him, and how tough it should be for anyone coming up the ranks, now that he's wrestling maybe four months out of the year and gets his own dressing room.

In pro wrestling today, you can have a successful career without WWE. Ask AJ Styles. Even though we want to think with kayfabe being dead that the whole carny mentality would end, it won't. The wrestling business is still about trust and respect. Separating the wheat from the chaff. Doesn't matter if WWE doesn't work strong style, they still follow the same guidelines that let the strong survive. Wrestlers already know what they are about to get into from hearing stories about developmental from their peers and friends. If someone told you Demott is a sadistic bully and you still join up, don't be shocked to find out first hand about his sadism. Kenny Omega left Deep South because he didn't like Bill's bullshit so it's not like they are helpless to do anything.

WWE likes his training style otherwise his ass would been out of the door ages ago. Why aren't people more upset about Hunter keeping him charge? That's the question. The men entering WWE developmental are already veterans in the independent promotions, have already worked with guys whose arses Demott's not worthy to wipe; and a good number of them have built up very good reputations overseas. All those wonderful indie veterans with sterling overseas reputations like Enzo Amore, Baron Corbin, Mojo Rawley, CJ Parker, Chad Gable, Jason Jordan, and Dash Wilder...
