I'm going to Smackdown at the Verizon Center tomorrow, and this is my first ever live WWE show (long overdue lol). Are there any tips or anything I should expect at the show?

The pyro is much louder in person than it sounds on TV. Even when you expect it, that first time can give you a jump.
Before taping Smackdown, WWE will tape matches for Main Event. And when Smackdown wraps up, sometimes a bonus match for the live crowd will take place.
Keep an eye on the ring and entrance set during commercial breaks; this is usually when the ring crew will set up for an upcoming segment (Miz TV, contract signing, whatever). Nice chance to see a bit of WWE behind the scenes.
Above all, HAVE FUN!

Good for you to finally get the 'live' experience. Being there in person is awesome, never once regreted going to a show.
One piece of advice: Have fun!!!!

Always fun. never had a bad experience. Pyro is quite loud as said before. Always find they seem to be much funner in person. I've been in crowds that have seen dead on TV before but in person it seemed the crowd was pretty hot the whole time.

Try to grab the IC belt if you can. Sure fire way to get a Mania match!

Even if the show is complete shit, being there live is always a blast.
I've been to a SmackDown in '06, SmackDown/ECW house show in '08, RAW in 2010 and WM 29. Never had a bad time, even when I got sick as hell from being cold and rained on at WM.

You're going to be shocked when you watch the show on the TV after you attend it and notice how much quieter the crowd reactions are on TV then compared to in person. Thunderous pops in the arena sometimes get Conway'd on TV and honestly have no idea why/how that happens.

Thanks for the all the info, had a lot of fun at the show last night. As mentioned, the pyro did make me jump. Every time. The crowd was pretty lively for most of the show from where I was sitting, and the show went by really fast. One thing I did notice is how much better watching the show is without the commentary. Much better. The highlights for me: *R-Truth's segment stealing the I.C. title was pretty funny. *Getting to boo Kane & Big Show and the Bellas in person. *Wyatt's promo, when the lights were out except for all the phone lights in the audience was a cool visual. *A.J. got a nice pop, the match w/Brie was pretty meh, but I think it's because Brie is just flat awful. *Seeing and doing the YES! chant live with D-Bry was THE highlight of the night for me. It's totally different seeing nearly everyone in the arena doing it in person. My sister, who I went with, and who stopped watching wrestling regularly years ago, didn't know who Bryan was, and didn't understand what was going on. She did however lose her mind when Reigns came out, and he did get a fairly good reaction from the crowd (in particular some shrieking from other ladies). Overall, it was a good show. Glad to have finally gotten the live WWE experience

Good to hear you had fun, also its good they have opening pyro again for the tv shows. I was at the royal rumble last month and the pyro that surprised me most was the wrestlemania sign pyro when roman pointed, that was somehow louder than any of the stage pyro.

What section were you in? Verizon has some of the best sight lines IMO.
