Drastic changes (roster in 92 and 02, departures in 92 and 02, newcomers in 96 & 02), weird stories/angles (Lawler giving away movie endings plus male stripper top face rolemodel for the kids in 96, ROCCO and various Warrior storylines in 92, Katie Vick and HLA in 02) or whatever you think ...what was the weirdest WWE year?

2012 had some f***ed up alignments for the wrestlers just having face and heel turns for the wrong people. 2009 in a sense that we actually survived that holy crap.

If you look at January 2002 and compare it to December 2002 it's like 3-4 years happened.

2011- Simply for the fact that one of the hottest angles for years somehow led to Triple H facing Kevin Nash in a ladder match. Also because two of the stalest acts on the roster in Mark Henry and R-Truth suddenly became two of the best things on WWE TV.

2001. I think that year would be considered one of the best in history if not for thr Invasion. Rumble, No Way Out & Mania were excellent, then when all the storylines started getting WCW centric the product suffered. But right after the reset button got punched after Survivor Series, everything was backon track.

2008. I don't even know. Looking back at it, someone must have spiked Vince's Metamucil or something. XD

2002 simply for the draft. It was unlike anything any wrestling company had ever done.
I hate 2002. In one company you had:
Steve Austin The Rock Hulk Hogan Ric Flair Undertaker Brock Lesnar (w/Paul Heyman) Triple H Shawn Michaels Kurt Angle Scott Hall Kevin Nash Eddie Guerrero Chris Jericho Chris Benoit Rey Mysterio Booker T Rob Van Dam Big Show Kane Rob Van Dam Edge Christian The Dudley Boyz The Hardy Boyz William Regal Mr McMahon Eric Bischoff Heel Stephanie McMahon who could get her comeuppance Trish Stratus Lita Victoria Molly Holly JR and King on Commentary
...... And it f***IN SUCKED!!! The biggest missed opportunity in wrestling history

1996 was the first to come to mind.
WWE was just in a weird limbo. They started acknowledging WCW with stuff like Billionaire Ted, The Real Double J and of course "Diesel and Razor Ramon". You had weird short-lived crap like TL Hopper, Freddie Joe Floyd and Faarooq in the nerf football helmet. Bret Hart was gone for most of the year. It seemed like they wanted to be more risque with people like Sunny, Brian Pillman, Steve Austin but then you'd have Vince yukking it up about The Godwinns and Aldo Montoya.
It just seemed there was no long term vision for the company and everything was up in the air. Very strange year.

Also more names: DDP Mr. Perfect Lance Storm Mike Awesome Test Perry Saturn Raven Kidman Mike Sanders Sean O'Haire Mark Jindrak Billy Gunn Ron Simmons Bradshaw Rhyno David Flair And it goes on and on. WWE would die to have a group of those guys I mentioned on the roster today. Not even including your roster.

1996 for me. Hall and Nash left. WWE was showing small glimpses of the attitude era, but they weren't full blown into it yet. Nitro was kicking RAW's ass in the ratings. Goldust was at his homo-est. Ultimate Warrior came and left. It was definitely a weird year.

If you look at January 2002 and compare it to December 2002 it's like 3-4 years happened. Now, what's funny about that is that you could look at January 2001 and December 2001, and think that almost nothing changed. Austin is a face feuding with heel Vince and heel Angle as the main story. Some alignment turns happened like Jericho and Taker, and Hunter tore his quad, but it is still the same players in the main event. Even the midcard is based around the same people, like the Dudleys, Hardys, Test, etc. You wouldn't even think that WCW folded and played out an Invasion angle that year, or that Austin, Vince, and Angle all went through two alignment turns.

When did Lawler give away movie endings?
I also vote for 1996.
