Always disliked it, hate Iron Man matches in general but that one's probably the hardest to sit through of them seeing as essentially nothing of consequence happens until after the match is supposed to be over.
Actually, as great as Bret and Shawn both are, I haven't seen a match between them I really like that much at all. Ladder match is decent but that's the most I can come up with.

Love it, love it, love it. Huge personal favorite of mine, it seemed like the ultimate match at the peak of my love for wrestling as a kid.

The reason it went 0-0 was because Bret and Shawn threw a tantrum over who would take the first fall. Both flatly refused and thus it went 0-0. Looses its shine doesn't it. No. For two reasons, A) people being whiny bitches backstage doesn't change how good the match is and B) I don't believe that story because it makes no sense. There was a first fall and Bret was the one who lost. Also Bret and Shawn were still on decent terms back then. Yeah, they've outright said that was the story they were trying to tell long-term; that the return match would be based on Bret thinking "well I never got beat in regulation/shouldn't have to defend my belt afterward".

Could you imagine if we got that match again at WM 13?

Remember being bored of it when I was a kid and thought maybe now I'm older and mature I would appreciate it more now. Nope still boring and tiresome and I never think of it when I think of great matches involving HBK or Bret.

One of those matches for me that changes based on my mood at the time. There's been plenty of times in which I've watched it and thought it was amazing. On the contrary, there's been many times in which when I've watched it I couldn't get into it and was bored. Always try to give it a watch during Mania season.

The best part is Sweatsock pointing to the rafters!
I was hoping Shawn would land on Jose's head

Yeah, it's a good match and I enjoyed the fact that neither was able to score a pinfall.
It's good but not the kind of match I'd watch over and over again.

It is a tough watch in one sitting and you have to be in the mood for it, but I have developed an appreciation for it. The way they structure the match is clever, basically dividing it into four or five separate matches and having a key spot every 15mins or so. I still think having it finish 1-1 would have been a better way of breaking it up, but it is still a very well worked match.

I loved it as an eight year old, and love it still as an almost twenty-eight year old. I won't say it's my favorite match of all time anymore, but it's still up there and never loses my attention. It has memorable spectacle, (Shawn's entrance), great in-ring work, both guys working hard, and a great finish. That's just about all you really need for a great match in my book.

Add a few pinfalls and you've got a pretty okay match.
As it stood, with neither man trusting the other enough to give said falls, it's a pretty tiresome match.
Again another thing that puts me off it is the fact it's often championed as the best WWE match of all time when there are dozens that are better.

It was exciting then but knowing the outcome of the match it's quite hard to sit there and watch nowadays.

Really good match. Would have been amazing had it not been for the iron man stip. Same match, just sudden death. Then it would be a 60+ minute classic.

That was back when I watched all the raws. We would get only wrestlemanias on ppv. I was totally into the match because I remember the build being very good. The focused on the athletic side of wrestling, and showed gym training montages. It was a slow match, but I have very fond memories of it.

I really liked it. I was rooting heavily for Bret, so I did have strong negative feelings, but that's the same type of feeling you'd feel when your team loses a game. Watching it years after the fact, I had more appreciation for it. this

If the match happened today it would have about 200 finisher kick-outs. Instead it's just two of the best doing what they do best.
