His character was very controversial, but I felt the WWE had to drop the ball on it after the 7/7/07 attacks. It was interesting that he was an Arab Muslim but got a lot of heat from the fans by exploiting their racist side.
If he was to be dropped in the Attitude Era, how far do you think he could have gone? I could see him fueding with Val Venis/Godfather in differences on how they see women. I could also see a small feud with Steve Austin.

Considering his character was derived from then-current events, he would have needed adjusting in the Attitude Era.

Probably would of been stuck with Tiger Ali Singh on Shotgun Saturday Night.

He would not have played an Arab (or Arab-American) in the Attitude Era. They gave him that character because they thought an Arab character would work as a heel during that time period following 9/11 and wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. He was an American from New York. His name sounds Italian.

That is absolutely true. I guess he would have a completely different backstory if it was pre-911 WWE era. Maybe a Saddam Hussein sympathizer?

He didn't even really work in the context of the times. They had him all over the map character wise. At first he was the angry Arab-American who felt persecuted for things he had nothing to do with; then in pretty short order they had him go full terrorist.
