Cena is booed because his character is obnoxious not because he loves America. People didn't hate Bret Hart, at first, because he hated America. They hated him because he was whiny and people were tired of him. He's the one that made it about America, it was an excuse, a scapegoat. That's what I want here, and in WWE's current atmosphere, it would absolutely work. I think that is the key to turning Cena heel and why his promo came off so badly on Raw, he came off as whiny as entitled, just like Bret leading up to WM13. He felt it was his right to be #1 in the company and the champion, that should be what they play off of Cena leading up to Wrestlemania if they want to turn him. He has been loyal and there for long enough, always doing what he felt was right and now the company and the fans are not showing him the respect he deserves. Of course, half of this board thinks he will be cheered. Here is what I have to say to that, did Bret or Hogan get cheered when they finally turned heel after fans had been asking for it for a while? No, and neither will Cena.

A pro-America heel won't stick. It didn't stick with Real Americans and that was a for more aggressive attempt at it than the OP's suggestion This wouldn't have a catchphrase, or kindly old casual racist uncle Zeb, or any of that. Just a man painting himself in a country's colors in a desperate attempt to absolve himself of criticism. It's more about Cena being delusional and pushed over the edge than anything, I think people are taking this a different direction based on the title. I think even if it's Cena, a wrestler comin out to cut that promo in the US would be getting "USA! USA!" chants way too often for it to work. He could do the same angle without playing real American and it'd probably work better.
