I think there's a far better chance of Cena leaving the business entirely than there is of his becoming a full-fledged heel.

To me, it happens if/when it happens. I'm certainly not expecting it to happen any time soon, so it's kind of a "out of sight, out of mind" thing.

It will never happen, and if it does, the WWE hype machine behind Cena will put all of that effort behind their next hand-picked guy. Is that what we want?

Vince McMahon didn't turn Hulk Hogan heel, WCW did.
This company did never did that with Bruno when he was the top star or Bob Backlund was the top star.
To give credence to the idea that Vince McMahon will turn John Cena heel is just straight up NOT paying attention.
John Cena is never turning heel.

It's not going to happen. He really doesn't need to turn heel. They could tweak his character easily to win over the male segment of the audience, but they don't because they probably feel it's not worth the risk of alienating the mom/kid fanbase who already make the character profitable. They could get a further 10 years out of Cena if he avoids major injuries.

The crowd's been shitting on Cena for so many years that if he did turn at this point it wouldn't even be of much interest. Yep. Fans turned on Hogan in 94-95 and he turned in 1996. Fans have booed Cena since 2006. It's now 2015. Any money they could have made off his heel turn evaporated years ago, especially since they've undercut every babyface they have or could have developed since then to keep him on top. No point in a heel turn.

If John Cena ever did turn heel, he'd be as protected as Triple H or Hollywood Hulk Hogan and as such, would be utterly unwatchable outside of the first 2-3 months. The novelty would wear off pretty quickly once he goes over Bryan clean, makes Reigns look like more of a tool than a McMahon scripted promo and only loses to Rollins after multiple flavours of interference, a foreign object and a crooked referee.

I really don't believe that he has any desire to play a heel. As long as that merch is moving & the primary audience is PG/kids he isn't turning unless he really wants to do it.

You can't turn Cena heel because at this point in time, turning him heel would be the only surefire way to get the motherf***er cheered.

Whenever they have somebody to replace him and whenever he's nearing retirement are the only times I think Cena would turn heel.

Well the Rock and Austin both turned heel after being top faces, so I guess Vince has never done it. Big difference between Bruno/Hulk and now. Bruno was in a completely different era before live weekly tv and was a massive draw, not to forget it was his father and still the time of the territories. Who knows if Vince would have eventually turned Hulk if he stayed throughout the 90s, I think he would have, especially if the crowds still turned like they did in 96/97. But at the time he left he had the WWE by the balls and was barely present. They don't have to worry about Cena leaving, at worst he would become part time, but I still see a few years before that happens.

WWE will turn Cena heel, and given the company's recent track record will likely be in in the lamest way possible and/or long after anyone will care. this

Actually Vince wanted to turn Backlund heel in 1984 after Hogan won the belt. Backlund refused and instead left wrestling until his 1993 comeback which led to his eventual heel turn. The reason for Vince's reluctance to turn Cena is pure and simple because of the money the Austin heel turn in 2001 cost him. When Vince thinks there is more money to be made with Cena as a heel than a face that is when it will happen. I will throw my hat in the it will happen at some point camp.
