My point is that quick cuts like those referred to in this thread are very instrumental to the alleged overness and importance of some moments or characters, such as PTP. Another example is WrestleMania 27's commercial I believe being 50/50 in terms of in-ring moments and fan reactions (guy looking at his friend in shock!) being shown as a means for getting you, the viewer, to purchase the show. Plus, PTP aren't over.

Kevin Dunn is the equivalent of the porno director that zooms in on dude ass at the exact wrong time.

Can anyone reasonably explain the the logic behind showing the crowd watching the backstage skit on the tron? I honestly can't think of a single reason why that makes any sense at all.

*wrestler is punching or kicking another wrestler* *ZOOM IN* *ZOOM OUT* *ZOOM IN* *ZOOM OUT* *ZOOM IN* *ZOOM OUT* I like to think that Vince watched his first early-'90s techno music video just before we started getting that technique appear on every beat down. i dread to think what happens when he discovers breakcore

Because backstage segments are literally so boring that just the back of peoples heads are more interesting? Because it gives the audience at home a sense of solidarity when they get see there are other people who couldn't care less about the conversations backstage? Because it shows that the wrestlers are aware there are cameras backstage filming them whilst still having the wrestlers ignoring the cameras because WWE think that looks better?

Papa Shango or another "scary" heel making his entrance? Cut to random shot of a bored kid picking his nose! "Whoa, would you look at the fear on that youngster's face!" Although once in a blue moon it works out pretty well.

This is like the WWE's version of "Find the Black People at the Knicks Game", only more telling. Reminds me of RAW on MLK day.

I think the idea is so that if you've just changed the channel you are made aware it's a WWE show you are watching and not to worry as they will be back to the arena soon. it made more sense in the days before everyone had a cable box with an on screen guide. I would say the WWE dog in the bottom right hand corner makes it pretty obvious you are watching WWE, but the vast majority of WWE's television audience unfortunately really do need things bashed over their head.

How about...now this might be startling for some, so you might want to sit down for this...they try - and this is just a suggestion - focusing only on what's going on in the ring?
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry - I didn't mean to cause offense or panic. It's just that - I'm remembering when WWE wasn't so hellbent on selling the crowds at their live events and more concentrated on selling the matches. I mean, they'd darken the arena to the point where the only audience you'd really see on TV were the first few rows of ringside. There was no real need to use the audience to sell the in-ring action.
