Are people really confused about what this is or the concept behind it?

Stephanie tweeted that he's actually being inducted, too. So...yeah.
For some reason this seems kinda wrong to me, and I'm not sure why.

He's not being inducted into the HoF though, he's being honored at the ceremony but with a 'Warrior Award'. The Warrior Award "will be presented each year at the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony." It's part of the Hall of Fame. There's a thin line, but this thread is fine.

They should have Cena do an induction of all of the Make A Wish kids yearly, just talk about all of their struggles and what it means to the kids and to him and then do a photo gallery/video on the Tron of all of them.
I personally don't have a problem with Connor going in, but I can see how other Make A Wish families could take issue with it.

I'm guessing they are sort of taking into Ultimate Warrior's Suggestion of having a different wing of the Hall of Fame for the behind scene guys named after the guy who was in charge of selling all the merch on the road back in the 80's and 90's. I forgot the guys name. It seems like WWE is taking up to his suggestion of a different branch in the Hall of Fame I guess. For your curiosity, the guy's name was Jimmy Miranda. As for this award, I'm perfectly fine with it. WWE's already proven that they do whatever the hell they want with their HoF, so using it for this is pretty respectable.

They're giving an award named after a wrestler who suddenly passed away after being inducted into the Hall of Fame to a kid who passed away prematurely. I hope this wasn't intentional. I called it exploitative in the Raw thread and definitely was the only one to find it... I just don't like WWE using people's deaths for open publicity like this.

Wasn't there a thread about this and people were against it? Me I approve of it. I respect the WWE for it. Yeah, I was the first to say it's wrong and I still believe so. Why him over any other Make A Wish kid? I'd be upset if I was a parent of one of those kids. It's like WWE value his life more. I just think it's a dodgy road but that's just me.

Bless him, why the hell not? The kid clearly had an impact on the humanity of those at WWE. It's a very cool move to pay respect to a kid who was funny, charismatic and loving. But sadly he didn't get to live the life we all are.
People will play the "oh but what about all the other kids" card. But he struck a nerve with the company. Its a tribute, why try to bring negatives out of something that is paying respects.

WWE is hypocritical & does messed up things, but I don't have any problem with them honoring a child that meant a lot to them & touched their lives. Sometimes a good deed is just a good deed

It brings publicity to Connor's story, and in turn, Connor's Cure, though, and as an uncle of a 7 year-old dealing with pediatric cancer, I'm just fine with that. I do find it funny that they named this after Ultimate Warrior, even though this has like nothing to do with the suggestion that Warrior made.

Connor shouldn't be inducted in the HOF but he at least did more than Drew Carey.

Connor shouldn't be inducted in the HOF but he at least did more than Drew Carey. He's receiving a special award that is given at the Hall of Fame. He's not being inducted into the Hall of Fame, though it's a fine line.

Why not buy ad time for a Connor's Cure spot during Raw, or contribute in a way that brings attention to it or him without just as much MAKING SURE WE KNOW that Stephanie and WWE stand up for dying children and don't you forget it. There's a clear self-serving element to this.

I don't know, both Warrior's suggestion and this award seems to be about honoring people who are neither wrestlers nor celebrities. Warrior suggested an award to honor WWE personnel who worked hard behind the scenes. He said to call it the 'Jimmy Miranda Award' in honor of longtime WWE employee Jimmy Miranda who worked in the merchandise department. This is an award named after Warrior which is given to people who exhibited resilience and courage. It's completely different than what Warrior called for. You might give Jim Johnston the 'Jimmy Miranda Award' for composing hundreds of WWE themes. You might give the 'Warrior Award' to a woman who contracted breast cancer.

There's a clear self-serving element to this. I really don't understand your gripe with how they're doing this. First of all, its the same video they've shown every time they've talked about Connor since he's passed. And what's in the video is part of the story. It shows just how many lives he effected through the courage he showed in his fight. I'm absolutely fine with them using their celebrity to bring awareness to this.

Sooner or later people will realise that; a) Celebrities and other persons inducted into the Hall Of Fame, are a different thing to wrestlers being inducted. b) WWE could easily just not have a Hall Of Fame. It's not as if they're gaining much from doing so. There's a clear self-serving element to this. Sorry but with all due respect, how would you have any clue about how WWE are supporting Connor's Cure or other such like causes? If they were pandering and broadcasting it on a wide scale they would be trashed for being exploitative and classless. This induction is just a nice nod and tribute.
