Whats so bad about being the highest rated cable show of the night and higher rated than Fox and much higher than the CW? What exactly are they up against, though? Who cares if they beat a Gotham rerun on Fox? You know what was ranked just below the first hour of Raw? Two Family Guy reruns. WWE gets completely crushed by the real cable heavy hitters like Monday Night Football, The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. And besides that, less people watching WWE tv means less potential people out there to subscribe to the network, buy merch and tickets to live events. I understand the tv rights fees are WWEs biggest revenue stream and the money is locked in, but there's nothing positive about failing to break 4 million viewers a few weeks shy of Wrestlemania. Cable ratings on the whole feel 8 percent last year it s a changing medium but being on top will always be a good thing. Being the numbered one rated show for the night on cable in both total viewers and the demo will always be a very positive thing. Its amazing that people spin it like its not. The other thing to look at is how it does relative to other shows on USA. And hey Raw was the highest rated show on USA last week so it is doing great there. In fact RAW was the fifth rated show in all of cable last week. Try and spin it any way you want but that is a good thing, and it makes no sense to pretend otherwise.

Cable is down 8% and WWE is down.... what was the exact number... 17% or so from this time last year? There's a lot more to this than cable being a changing medium. The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones are breaking viewership records and WWE is.... #5 in a week with two of the heavy hitters in their off season.

It's not really about records but about how much USA is willing to pay for programming that consistently pulls in viewers all year. Walking Dead and all those other shows "benefit" from having seasons. Thisis something wwe does not have
