Matt Hardy in 2001. All Jeff had to do is climb out of the cage and they would have won.
Instead Jeff jumps of the cage and they lose the match and could have lost their jobs.

I liked Foley's turn in early 98. Turned on the fans and on Austin because while he was getting the crap kicked out of him in a cage, the fans chanted for Austin instead of him. He had shown up as Mankind, and fans asked why he wasn't Cactus Jack. He started being Dude Love, and fans asked why he wasn't Cactus Jack. Then, when he gave them Cactus Jack, the payoff was him lying there helpless as they chanted someone elses name. He took Cactus away from the fans and showed back up as Dude Love to ally with McMahon and take the title from the guy whose name they chanted over his. Pretty cool story imo. This is one of my favorite storylines ever. Those first two months of Austin's title reign were great.

You can make a case for his second heel turn as well. He spends much of his adult life trying to keep Jeff on the straight and narrow, Jeff keeps screwing up but keeps getting all of the glory, while Matt keeps his nose clean and does all the right things yet lives perpetually in his shadow. He may not be strictly in the right, but you can sympathise with his motives.

It's been mentioned a couple of times but Batista in 2009: Rey Mysterio is a cruiserweight midget who has no business challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Adam Rose: I'd be pissed off too if a bunny kept costing me matches.
The Hurricane in 2005: Kurt Angle spent almost 10 minutes kicking Hurricane's ass, where was Rosey during this time?
Big Show last year: You all would have done the same thing.

Why was the Savage turn justified? You're not alone in thinking that but I'm always curious why that's such a shared opinion (other than for typical male reasons for guys being paranoid about their women getting closer with another man). It was portrayed as Savage being completely paranoid and delusional, and that's the way it played out on TV as well (at least to me). If anything, Hogan (in kayfabe) helped Savage a hell of a lot more than hurt him. Saved him from beatdowns, fended off Andre at WM 4 so Savage could win the title, etc. The Sid turn was definitely justified, though. www.freakinawesomenetwork.net/2011/07/justifying-evil-randy-savage-attacks-hulk-hogan/Hogan helping an unconscious female get medical attention means he was lusting after her? Even in kayfabe that article is stretching. Like I said, it was portrayed as Savage being delusional and paranoid, and that's the way it came off. I can understand men thinking Hogan's character had other intentions, but how the actions played out on TV is not consistent with that theory. That's why the angle worked so well.

Die, Rocky, Die![/quotek] It's funny how the Rock's great heel runs was because the fans just booed him for really no reason.
