I'd like it. I have nothing against the woman, I just hate it when the UFC hype machine deems someone ZOMG UNSTOPPABLE1!1!!!P4PCHAMPGOATBLARGH!!!1! It made me hate Machida. It made me hate Anderson. It made me hate Jon Jones. After a monster gets their bubble burst, I warm right up to them. It was never them I hated, just the marketing and apparent dopey parrot nature of a lot of MMA fans. You can't blame "the UFC hype machine" for her being deemed that. Winning every single fight she's in against every challenger in her weight class would be at fault there. Dana White isn't Eric Bischoff booking Bill Goldberg's streak... He's just taking advantage of it. If you refuse to warm up to her til she "gets her bubble burst", that's on you I suppose. It seems kinda douchey, but hey, not my business. I'm sure I'm a hell of a lot more douchey in other ways. No one is saying the woman isn't leaps and bounds better than those she's met in competition so far, just that I find it the trains that get built annoying. The way I see it, no one is unbeatable. But as you said, that's just my inner douche. We all have silly hang ups.

I agree that no one is unbeatable, I'm just saying that UFC pretty much HAS to market her as a monster considering she is one. To do anything less is leaving money on the table. The people who will watch just to see her in action + the people watching just to see her lose far outnumber the people who would watch but don't because they "know" she's going to win.

For the record, I wasn't questioning your ability to think as you do or judging you for it, I was just wondering the reasoning behind it. Again though, meh, not my business.

Derp.
I had intended to, you know, say something in the above post, but the finger slipped and that's that.
Not to fear, friend. I don't care. You saw a silly line of logic and wanted to have a discussion. Why would one take offense?

Cyborg is the only real threat. Carano is an option for a name value fight but Rousey likely wins that easily enough. Cyborg's brutal striking is the major threat to Rousey but UFC do not seem remotely interested in signing her. Doesn't she have a tendency to fail drug tests? That and if I recall, she's significantly out of Rousey's weight class. If she dropped down in weight, it could happen, but she could also potentially lose power in the process, and it'd also mean Ronda would be fighting at a size she's used to and Cyborg would be fighting on her terms, pretty much. She failed one drug test but it was after a title defense which does sorta destroy the creditability of her title reign and its not hard to see why Dana White isn't too keen on bringing her as the UFC would look stupid if she came and ended up pissing hot regardless if she beat Rousey or not.

Rousey's judo background is what's making her a killer, and not just in the obvious that she's REALLY REALLY GOOD.
Judo pretty much has parity between men and women in competition. Judoka's train with women constantly and there's really no separation between us dude's and the ladies. So you're getting this wild, brutal pace combined with training partners of all shapes and sizes. Plus, the financial support for young athletes is pretty equal too (terrible though it is). She's been a level athlete at the top level of her sport for a long time because of judo where the sad reality is in other sports, you might get less advantages simply for being a female athlete.
