When was the last time he delivered his line in his sing along fashion? I know he said it on SD, but just spoke it like a regular line.
Why would they remove this from him? He delivered it very well, the crowd sang along with it, and he had fun with it too. This sounds like yet another example of cutting someone's legs off to make who they want to look taller.
Also, what other examples of lines that were over, but stopped without explanation can you guys remember?
Estrada's opening is one.

I never understand when they do this sort of thing. They have a guy whose actually getting the fans to react, heel or not, and so they decide to take away the one thing they're reacting to.
Imagine if they told DX back in the day they weren't allowed to say Suck It or do crotch chops because they were supposed to be heels. Or told The Rock to stop being funny in his promos when he was a Hollywood jerk heel.
Maybe that's also why they've been beating poor Barrett like a drum in the past few months. Well that and the whole being IC Champion thing.

Probably the biggest, the Miz is no longer AWESOME!!!
Daniel Bryan's yes chants, they tried letting other guys run with it, they tried having Bryan chant no instead.
Not a saying but Cesaro lost his big swing because it was getting to over.

When Brock left in 04 it really screwed Vince's mind up

Has this "taking things away from a heel because it's getting too over" thing been verified before or is it just speculation?
Just curious about this... even if it's just speculation it's very credible speculation.

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought Barrett was injured again.

I could be wrong but I think I remember reading something posted here about Sandow's cartwheels being taken away or something. In general, I think the ideal situation would be to let a heel keep their phrases/gestures/whatever that are over, and just reinforce them being bad guys through actions.

When Brock left in 04 it really screwed Vince's mind up That is the most delicious irony of the last 10 years. Lesnar's rocket push and even quicker bail out has left a culture within WWE that is paranoid to give too much to a give. Everybody is interchangeable, everybody is replaceable. Oddly, Lesnar can then stroll back in a decade later and pretty much have his run of the shop.

The first time I remember it happening was when AR-MONDO ALLE-JANDRO ESTRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRADA had to stop saying his name because crowds loved saying it with him, in spite of him managing the SA-MOAN BULLDOZER, UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMAGA.

I'm still surprised they turned him heel after he returned as a face. He seriously had a one week run as a face and beat Cesaro in such beautiful fashion you'd assume he'd be their next uppermidcard guy. But instead they turned him heel again and had him win the IC Title so he can lose to everyone.
