Heard this riddle on Brooklyn 99, and figured I'd post it here. It's driven me nuts for the past few hours now it is your turn F.A.N.
There are 12 people on an island, 11 of them weigh the same and 1 is different in weight. There is only a see saw on the island and no scales of any kind. The see saw can only be used 3 times.
Find the person who doesn't weigh the same as the others.

1) Put 3 people on side 1 and 3 on side 2. If it's even, those 6 are not the ones, so there's 6 left. If it's not even, it's one of those 6.
2) Of the group of 6 that has the odd-weight person, put 2 on one side and 2 on the other. If the scales tip, it's down to those 2, and if it doesn't, it's the 2 not on the scales. So now you're down to 2.
3) Weigh the last two. Shoot the one whose weight is off for making you waste time figuring this out instead of owning up.

Use 1: 6 each side Use 2: 3 from the heavier side of use 1 either side Use 3: 1 from the heavier side of use 2 either side
Either one will be heavier than the other or they will weigh the same meaning the third is the heaviest.

Put six people on each end of the seesaw at the same time. Take the six people from the end that sinks down and send the other six away.
Put three people on each end of the seesaw at the same time. Take the three people from the end that sinks and send the other three away.
With three people left, choose one person to sit at either end of the seesaw. If either of them sinks, you'll have the heavier one. If neither of them sinks, the remaining person must be the heaviest.
Edit. That only works if the one person weighs more than the others, not less.

Shoot the one whose weight is off for making you waste time figuring this out instead of owning up. But how do you know which of the two is the one whos weight is off? The riddle doesn't say if they are lighter or heavier.

I have nothing to add but a story.
I was out back of work smoking and there's a small park with a see-saw. There was two boys, probably like 8-10 years old trying to operate it and had no idea. One would get on, then the other end would be six feet in the air. I watched them for maybe, like 2 or 3 minutes and finally I said, "Guys, you gotta balance it and get on at the same time." They tried this once or twice and still failed, finally they asked if I could help them, so I wandered over and balanced it out for them and they both got on.
They were way too old to be mystified by a see-saw as far as I'm concerned.

Since all the island contains is a see-saw, wait on people to start dying off, eventually one person should be remaining, he weighs the most.

Is it weird that my first thought was "The other 11 are cannibals so you should point to the dead one with missing pieces"?

You take the chicken and leave the fox and the feed. Cross leave the chicken and take the fox. Leave the fox and take the chicken back. LEave the chicken and take the feed. Leave the feed and the fox and go back for the chicken and you've crossed the river. Not sure why you need a fox but its not my trip.

Alright, haven't looked at any responses but I think I have it....
You take 8 of the people and put 4 on each side of the see-saw (Used once).
One of two things will happen;
A) If they are balanced everyone is the same weight and they can be put to the side.
You take the remaining 4 and put two on each side (Used twice). The side with the lighter person will be up higher. Take those two people and put them on each side to find the lighter person (Used three times).
B) If they are unbalanced that means the lighter person is among these 8. Take 6 of those 8 people and put three on either side (Used twice). One of two things will happen;
i) If they are balanced that means 1 of the 2 people you didn't weigh is the lighter person. You can then put each of these two people on the see-saw (Used three times) and find the lighter person.
ii) If they are unbalanced the side with the lighter person will be higher up. You've now narrowed the field to three people. You can put any 2 of the 3 remaining people on the see-saw (Used three times), either they're unbalanced in which case the one higher up is the lighter person, or they're balanced meaning that the person not on the see-saw is the lighter person.

I googled it.
The answer involved Degree-level math. I stopped reading.

Divide the 12 into 2 groups, "the others" and "the regular cast". Allow the black smoke monster to sit on whichever side he wants, as he is made of smoke and doesn't have a mass. Shoot Ethan and drown Charlie to bring the total down to 10. Hurley is the one who weighs more than everyone else!
