Ellie from Up.
Didn't help that when I first saw it my Grandmother was really sick in the hospital, and my Grandfather really didn't know how to do anything around the house without her.

Not a movie, but Derek Reese in Sarah Connor Chronicles' death was so abrupt that it knocked me back on my heels.

I say with absolutely no shame at all that when Littlefoot's mother dies I still break down into a blubbering wreck every time.

I am subbing at a school right now and watched this movie just a couple weeks ago and that hit me pretty hard. Then at the same school but a different class, the teacher played this movie as kids worked on their art projects and she had obviously never seen it. When it happens, I just suddenly hear this gasp and oh no and turn and see the teacher just super upset. He was just set up so well and the death is so painful. What's this from?

The dog from I Am Legend Star-Lord's mom. I had just beaten cancer and thought I was going to break down in the theater.

Doc Holliday in Tombstone. Such amazing acting in that scene from Val Kilmer and Kurt Russell, and the moment Doc realizes he's not dying with his boots on and gets one last laugh is just perfect.

People were really taken by surprise by the Brother dying in Big Hero 6?
I figured he was marked for death from the beginning. That's kinda what Disney does and all of his dialouge was very much "I'm not gonna be around much so here's everything about me really fast"

Personally, Uncle Ben in Spider-Man. Obviously it wasn't shocking, but my grandmother had passed a few months prior to the movie's release, which was the week I graduated college. The scene after the graduation where Peter says "I really missed him today" really hit home when I saw it.

Marley from Marley and Me. I watched it, knowing he dies, and still cried like a baby. Johnny from the Outsiders- It was sad when they said he died a hero, after getting the people out of the fire.
