Obviously containing spoilers if you haven't seen movies mentioned.
So having seen Casino Royale recently and being very saddened by the death of Vesper Lynd in it, I'm curious as to what, for you are the most heartbreaking tragic deaths in movies. In my case, the major ones to prop up besides the latter in my mind are the deaths of Gwen Stacy in Amazing Spider-Man 2, undoubtedly the most well done part of the movie by far, and the title character's death in Donnie Darko, the only death in a movie to actually get me to cry. How about you, what made you tear up or generally just get bummed out?

I was ready for Vesper to go already, nothing against the character, but that whole sequence was death to me.
Mufasa.

Jack Kipling's death in My Boy Jack, made infinitely worse given the real actual deaths of him and countless other young men in WWI.
