Miz deserved his spot that year and I will fight everyone I have to over this. Lawrence Taylor is my choice.

Yeah, Miz was on fire at that time, not his fault he was thrown away for Rock/Cena: Beta. I'd probably go LT just for the celebrity on top factor.

Miz deserved his spot.
Also Miz has more value to the company as a "failed" main eventer than he would if he never got WM main event. Just based on how WWE usually does things, he wouldn't be where he is right now if he never got that main event push. He'd be in the lower card or gone by now.

LT. Poor BamBam had to do the job.

Probably LT, but he didn't phone it in and you could tell he really trained for the match. I give him big props for that.

I'm very, very tempted to say Miz (because Miz was, is and always will be an instant channel-changer for me), but I gotta' go with Lawrence Taylor.

Hulk Hogan... at least at Wrestlemania IX.
Bret most certainly didn't deserve to get one-upped and overshadowed like that.

I offer a name from left field for consideration... Sycho Sid Justice. It's not to say that he didn't work hard for it, and I don't think that could be said for anyone other than Lawrence Taylor (that said, HE worked hard on the night of his match)... but Sid was the lucky beneficiary of two separate periods of booking upheaval in the leadup to both WrestleMania VIII (the proposed Flair/Hogan match reportedly tanked on house shows, causing a shuffle from Flair/Hogan, Savage/Roberts and Undertaker/Sid to Flair/Savage, Hogan/Sid and Roberts/Undertaker) and WrestleMania XIII (the whole Michaels losing his smile thing).
On paper, Daniel Bryan's situation may sound similar (he also wasn't pencilled in for the main event until sudden booking changes were made), but I don't recall Sid having an angle where the logical conclusion, a title win at WM, was suddenly probably never going to happen.

Big Show in 2000, simply for him getting in on his contract stipulation.

Kevin Nash. He makes LT look like Flair in his prime.

I am also in agreement that LT ended up making his appearance mean the most and made the most out of it. Very similar to Floyd Mayweather at WM24, though he obviously didn't main event.
You have to remember that the WWF was in a financial death spiral during that time period and was doing anything possible to get SOME attention and press on it's product

Another +1 for Lawrence Taylor. He worked hard to not stink out the joint, no doubt, but aside from the celebrity factor he had no business being in the main event. The match itself should have been midcard, or semi-main event at best.
Also, Bam Bam. Underrated worker, but he was still a midcarder who was way, way down the pecking order.
I'd also consider Sgt. Slaughter, Yokozuna (at WM9), Big Show (WM2000, WM25), Foley (WM2000), and (of course) Reigns as being undeserving of being in the main events.
Miz isn't even close to that list.

Winner - Lawrence Taylor Runner-up - Roman Reigns
Neither of these two shouldn't be main eventing Mania. Not at all. I don't even know how people can even THINK of Miz in this spot.Miz worked his ass off. Sure, I would have preferred if Miz main evented a Summerslam instead of Wrestlemania, at the same time the guy deserved that spot. He rose up naturally.

Miz deserved his spot that year and I will fight everyone I have to over this. Lawrence Taylor is my choice. Exactly. New Nexus Punk was hot garbage and Barrett lost all his momentum with the Corre ages ago.

I am seriously the minority here
Shawn Michaels in WM20
I am glad we got the match, especially for the incredible Backlash rematch, but besides the feud wIth HHH, which I thought ended Rumble 04, there was no reason for him to be there
