It took me awhile to come around but recently ive started to enjoy stardust. Yeah his promos are a bit out there, but alot of his mannerisms are great.
I dont think going back to Cody would benefit him all that much at this point in time. And unlike alot around here, while i do enjoy Cody, he is just not a Main Eventer/World Champ type.

I dont think remaining as Stardust benefits him either. You can throw out the argument that he "stands out" and that he's better off being Stardust than being a "generic wrestler in trunks", but I don't think that's a valid argument considering that as every other "generic wrestler in trunks" guy on the roster is either barely on TV or has (or should have) a fleshed out enough persona that they don't need a "wacky gimmick" as a crutch.

They really had some momentum for the guy when he was 'fired' by The Authority. Maybe just have Hunter or Vince berate the guy on TV, have him off TV for a few months, reintroduce him as a lackey and do a sloooow face build? Hes paid his dues, done 'okay' to well with some questionable roles, and frankly its now or never as far as elevation goes.

While i like Stardust, i dont want him to remain as Stardust, but going back to just Cody wont help him either. Id personally prefer a mashup of all of his gimmicks into one personality. How they'd figure that out, i dont know.

They never should have done the "I'm Stardust, not Cody!" bullshit
Stardust needed a Girldust, even more insane than him. They could then do a Joker/Harlequin relationship between the two nutters.

If he goes back to being Cody he should wear assless chaps. Now this I can get behind. Literally. I love Stardust, and I simply don't understand why they didn't give him and Goldust a singles match at Wrestlemania that Dustin has been wanting for years to retire on. Especially when it was being built up just til a couple weeks ago. I swear it's like Vince knows Goldust wants it so he's like "f*** you you can't have it".....which does sound oddly familiar. And fits into my mindset that McMahon is an asshole.

Only problem there is that they already tried that several years ago with Legacy. He and Ted spent months slowly building up to a point where they finally got tired of taking shit from Orton, and then when it finally happened... the fans sided with Orton. And then he beat them in a handicap match at Wrestlemania, which kind of put a halt to any possible rise he may have gotten from the whole thing. Considering how badly their match at Fastlane turned out, I can understand Vince not wanting to risk a repeat of it at his biggest show of the year.

You can't really do a relationship with him anymore since the WWE's already acknowledged that he's married.

Something was just off that night with the entire card it seemed. And the crowd was shit. I know some people loved Bryan vs. Reigns but I even thought that match was 'meh'. I can see the WM crowd being much more fun to play off of and having Cody slowly lose his mind/amp up the viciousness as the match went on would have worked well.

It's a good gimmick and he plays it well, but the writers don't know what to do with him Changing him back to Cody won't accomplish anything. What's his gimmick going to be? Another moustache? Hey! He got over with that mustache!

I'm a fan of Cody, but that doesn't mean he needs to be in the main event. Stardust has potential to be a good character, but...

Next year's Royal Rumble though, they definitely need to make a thing where Cody enters the match as each of his characters. Naw, I'm good. It's not really fair to waste multiple Rumble spots on one performer. ' Yeah, because the tension is so high for Zach Ryder or Titus O'Neil possibly winning.

I understand how opinions work but calling Cody Rhodes mediocre is just flat out wrong.

It's not really fair to waste multiple Rumble spots on one performer. Yeah, the only reason that really worked in 1998 was because the roster was so thin. When Tom Brandi can get a spot, your company is low on workers.

I understand how opinions work but calling Cody Rhodes mediocre is just flat out wrong. Elaborate for me. I find everything about him closer to mediocre than good. If I was to describe a single wrestler as "Vanilla" it would be Cody Rhodes. He's alright at everything. But he just doesn't stand out or above at anything at all.

I've enjoyed Stardust's promos. I love that he altered his manner of speech and delivery to truly make the character something else. I've seen his promos from other periods and to see Stardust I find it impressive that he's done such a job of turning that character into something living and breathing rather than it being Cody Rhodes in facepaint and a bodysuit.

I was at a house show recently and the crowd was really into Stardust. Kids had Stardust masks on and he got decent pops throughout his match with Goldust. I don't think it translates well to TV, but I do think people like the Stardust gimmick.
Do I think it's what Cody should be doing for the foreseeable future? No, but Cody has always done well with whatever he's given by the writers and this gimmick is just further proof of that.
