Rodimus was cool and all, but Optimus was practically a role model for eight-year-old me.

Hot Rod had the right look and everything, but yeah i would have followed Optimus Prime in to the gates of Mordor Jetfire was my favorite though, before Bay ruined him.

Even though I'm not a big Transformers fan
I've always found Optimus Prime to be an awesome Character

Optimus was too much of a Superman like perfect leader goody two shoes for me. Rodimus was great because of the self doubt that he had to overcome in order to lead the Autobots.
And all you Rodimus fans need to check out the More Than Meets The Eye comic series if you aren't already.

grimlock would have easily been leader if he wanted, he just sat back to let the other two think they were in charge. Me, Grimlock, king.

The funny thing is, Ultra Magnus was written better on the series than on the movie, and Galvatron always wanted to fight HIM, not Rodimus.

The funny thing is, Ultra Magnus was written better on the series than on the movie, and Galvatron always wanted to fight HIM, not Rodimus. That's because he knew what Magnus really looked like on the inside...
