Which begs the question...has anyone else purposely stopped home releases because they knew the future seasons were not well-accepted? Only one I can think of was (until recently) Warner Bros. not doing box sets of Scooby-Doo seasons that prominently featured Scrappy, or if they did, downplaying his involvement on the case art and synopsis.
Averted by CBS (Constantly Butchering Shows) when they finished Laverne and Shirley...yes, including the dreaded California episodes (which weren't that bad, that is, until they got to....) The Laverne, Where's Shirley? final season too.

I sure as hell don't have room in my house (and by house I mean one bedroom condo) for 20 seasons of a TV show on DVD (assuming I'd want half of those seasons anyway)

Well, then they shouldn't have randomly stopped making those cool shiny boxes for those character clamshells with flimsy cardboard sleeves that made my collection look gross on my shelf!

I got season 11 solely for the commentary, otherwise I would have stuck with 1-10.
It was a disappointment then that the funny, insightful commentary was gone in favour of "...I didn't think it was that bad" for every episode.

I have them all 1-17, plus 20...I always knew I'd never get them all, I just thought DVD would stop being a thing is all.

Well, there's goes my plans to get all seasons on DVD. I'm probably one of the few that loves the series in its entirety. Honestly I can count the number of episodes I don't like on both hands, it's not that many.

Now your stuff's going to be pirated more... Yeah, it's pretty redundant when you can't stream it outside of the US.

This does seem more like a "later seasons didn't sell as well as the first ten, so... f*** it.. And uh... Piracy something something." thing.

I think it's more like most of our DVD sales are in the US, there's Simpsons Apps and FX owns all the rights and does marathons, so they killed off their own market, a big enough fan has the App, so he's not gonna buy the DVDs.

This is very disappointing for me. I wanted to own all seasons on physical media.

Or maybe people prefer streaming a series as opposed to buying it. There's more to it than just piracy. Streaming is all fine and good until they decide to pull the content out of the service or shut the service down entirely... /physical4life Yeah, the fact that you don't actually own what you're watching is the major issue I have with streaming besides the cost of bandwidth and lag. If I want to watch my favourite show, I don't want to be screwed by slow or nonexistent internet connections or the content suppliers deciding to withdraw access to the content.

I have every season that they've released, minus 20 because it didn't have any bonus features, so I'm kinda bummed about this. I don't buy nearly as many DVDs as I used to but I always made sure to get these.

It's getting close to bedtime, I had to read three times before I read "I HAVE every season they've released" and not "I HATE every season they've released..."
