It caused the dissension between Vince and Hunter that ended when H cost Bryan the title at SummerSlam. Then the whole deal with Vince was totally forgotten and we've only seen him once or twice since. That's what I always thought it was about. Hinting at the friction in Hunter and Vince's relationship that would then be swerved by Hunter forming The Authority at Summerslam with Vince's blessing.

I just interpreted it as 'ratings are down? You know what'll solve this? Another McMahon feud!' and when that inevitably didn't work they quietly dropped it. And blamed Curtis Axel cos no way would Triple H ever fail to draw.

I would like to think that HHH,Steph and Vince all realized that having a bullshit fake concussion angle is in bad taste when there are wrestlers in your compnay who are dealing with effects of a real concussion at the moment.
But most likely because HHH realize oh shit if this goes on I'm going to have to show some vulnerability and we can't have any of that.

I'd go find and watch this segment but, I'm afraid I'd hurt myself rolling my eyes again like I did when I saw it live.

I'm going to say it was dropped because rather than making Trips look like a tough badass it just made him look like an idiot.

His "wobbly legs" thing is cringe worthy and not even really applicable to the injury.
Compare that to Benoit's selling his arm so good during MITB at Mania that guys backstage thought he was really hurt.
That's why HHH is never, in my eyes anyway, seen as a top tier in ring guy. He was.... B+ compared to the real in ring talent.

network.wwe.com/video/v31321477Show opens with a nice recap video, then it's straight in to Trips V Axel The backstage segments throughout the show between Steph/Trips and Vince were hilarious if my memory serves me correct.

Hahahaha, Curtis Axel and Triple H feuded. That's funny. It's great to remember that Curtis Axel has wins over Triple H and John Cena.

Too bad we missed out on that HHH vs Curtis Axel ironman match.
A main event in any arena.

I sorta question whether they ever really had plans for HHH vs. Curtis Axel or if it was just a stopgap until SummerSlam.

Axel is the epitome of boring. I'm glad it was canceled.

Steph crying and talking about Vince splashing the grandkids with a hose was hilariously bad. Like, I'm supposed to feel sorry for these people? McMahons aren't sympathetic babyfaces, Hunter included.

Don't do it, Hunter. Curtis Axel is beneath you. Lol.
