If true, this really f***ing blows. Bryan missing two straight Raws leads and all the tag matches leads me to believe it has some merit.
And I'm not surprised about the AJ thing. WWE tends to ignore that pairing, even though it was beneficial to both. I don't think it's any kind of slight of AJ. They've practically went out of their way to sing her praised the past two weeks.

Maybe he can do an Austin; Get it fixed, sit out for a year, come back for 12-18 months of good matches and then retire. Well, he had that chance last year, but he opted to be stupid and rush back. Like Austin did after Survivor Series 97? I really hope Bryan smartens up and takes an extended period of time off to get fully healthy.

It was until 2 years later that Austin's neck got worse. That's why they did the injury angle at Survivor Series '99.

It was until 2 years later that Austin's neck got worse. That's why they did the injury angle at Survivor Series '99. Austin was in pain for 2 years but wrestled through it by changing his style. By mid/late 1999 it was near unbearable, and he had to come off the road, despite being the top guy. He had surgery and came back for some killer matches in 2000/2001 where he was taking quite a lot of hard bumps and working vicious matches. A bit like an alcoholic getting a new liver and then drinking twice as much on it. By the end of 2001, Austin was pretty much done. It was clear in 2002, he couldn't do it anymore.

Does his autobiography mention Punk? He's a fairly big part of Bryan's story too.
'I cashed in the briefcase and ended 2011 on a high. 2012 was good too. In January 2013...'

Since he came back I can't even enjoy his matches. He has seemed hell bent on taking way more neck and head bumps (yeah for all the headbutts). After Benoit, I just do not want these guys killing themselves, their bodies, and maybe most of all, their brains.

If that is the case, I, uh, really can't blame them for not putting him in a match against Lesnar. Wrestling Brock would have been a hell of a lot safer than being in a freaking ladder match.

Rumors and conjecture so it must be true.

*IF TRUE* This sucks. But you know what? I seem to remember during the build to Wrestlemania, some people suggesting Bryan's questionable health as a reason he shouldn't win the Rumble/Main event 'Mania/conquer Brock. I also remember said people were met with extreme venom.
Near the end of last year, reports were that his health was pretty dire, and suddenly he was back. It seems like it was way too good to be true

Retire from in ring. Long term health is too important. Be a great agent or something.

Every time this dude does one of those suicide dives or flying headbutts it makes me wince. I honestly don't know he keeps doing it. Risking his health for mid-card matches on throwaway TV shows for a meaningless title.

They've practically went out of their way to sing her praised the past two weeks. They ignored it during his WWE documentary. She was still in the company then. They've sliced up the hell out of Bryan and AJ's history to where it's selective now. Miz should have a greater presence in Bryan's career, for example.

I think they realized how weird it looked for Bryan to be with AJ (in kayfabe) for a while and to be such a focal point, but then the very next year they introduced Brie and Bryan's long term relationship on Total Divas and into kayfabe as well. Of course kayfabe's dead, but I guess they're realized how hard making Brie/Bryan/AJ make sense would be.

Didn't Bryan hate the AJ storyline?

Of course the solution would be to not let real life screw up the great storylines you manage to come up with. Didn't Bryan hate the AJ storyline? I don't remember which one of them said it but Bryan didn't like the Gail Kim storyline so when he got AJ as an on-screen girlfriend, they both agreed they had to make the most of it. And they certainly did.

He kept his relationship with Gail Kim hidden from everyone even as both Bella were going after him. Kayfabe Brian has no problem keeping relationships hidden.

I mentioned this as part of the RAW thread or the spoilers thread. Had a feeling something wasn't right. Lame. Hope he comes back but at the same time makes you wonder if it really is time for the dude to call it quits.
