I can see both sides of this one, so I'm curious as to what the general consensus is. Of course "fair" is completely in the subjective realm of kayfabe...

I prefer Elimination matches personally but I can see why some would find the "one fall to a finish, champ doesn't need to be pinned to lose the belt" aspect more exciting.
It also varies from match to match though despite my general preference towards the elimination style. For one I'd want any AJ/Joe/Daniels match to be one fall to a finish but if we were to do a Shield triple threat I'd absolutely want it to be elimination style. It depends on the storyline and competitors involved but generally I prefer the elimination style format.

Elimination style has a lot more angles to it, while first fall is better for protecting people and having a cool finish.
My preference is elimination style, but it's not the best way to go all the time.

One fall for triple threat. Elimination for four way.

Elimination for a belt.
Elimination for a #1 contendership
Elimination for f***'s sake.
If the 3 way dance didnt emerge from ECW, it surely got over there, and their vision of it should be the standard.
Ya, I get that a non elimination stip protects the champ, but so doesn't the concept that his 2 (3, etc) opponents are teaming against him?

I love elimination style. But it's easier to sell a one fall finish match if the champion is a babyface who must overcome the odds or if you're selling it the champion heel may finally get his comeuppance.

If everybody is legal in the ring at the same time then it should be "first fall wins". If there is some kind of tag situation happening, then it needs to be elimination style.

Elimination style. ECW got it right when they had that 4 way for the tv title between Scorpio, Shane Douglas, Pitbull #2 and Jericho. They had more than enough time set aside to put on a tremendous match.

Both.
Unforgiven 200 and Anarchy Rulez 1999 have both and are extremely fun.

One fall for triple threat. Elimination for four way. I agree.

Elimination. I'll admit there are some easy stories to tell with "the champ wasn't pinned" but for the most part elimination is just much more fun.

How should a wrestling match be booked?
If tag teams are evolved, one team wins and one team loses
If a battle royal, over the top rope no more than 30 guys. No more than 10-12 in ring at once
If cage match, one man wins by escape, TKO or pin fall
All other matches should be one on one submission or pin fall. No three way no four way definitely no six pack challange
I hate three ways. Never liked them. I have seen some good ones WMXX comes to mind, but in the main I am a fan of mild gimmick matches or straight competition

Ordinarily elimination, but one-fall is good to protect the guy who doesn't job, to further a feud.
