I'm pretty sure Archie mainly gets by via Sonic and Megaman nowadays since I still have never actually met anyone that reads, well, Archie, but kudos to them so long as they can make it not too blatantly "LOOK AT HOW RELEVANT WE ARE!" Oh yeah, Sonic's Archie comic is one of the most underrated parts of his franchise. He's not just a mascot, he and his friends get to act like real, well, people.

Oh, I know. I've been trying like crazy to keep up with it but I keep getting super behind despite how relatively easy it is to find it online.
I think Archie!Sonic has the same benefits as arguably NXT in the sense of relative distance from the big brass of the company so less executive meddling. Sure, there'll be directives every now and then that can come off as hamfisted but for the most part, the breathing room is actually what helps the characters develop and exist properly.

The Archieverse sounds like my personal interpretation of hell-being trapped in high school for eternity. But is that better or worse than the Peanutsverse, where you're trapped in Elementary school for eternity and your teachers sound like muted trumpets? And why, after fifty plus years, haven't Betty or Veronica realized there are better men in the world?

Because their only other options are a glutton with a weird looking crown he never takes off, a douchebag, and a nice guy that's not into girls.

When are we going to see Archie vs. Brock Lesnar? Archie teamed with the Ninja Turtles and he's survived zombie invasions, Predators and the Punisher. Brock's not ready.

A not-ironic spoiler tag below {Spoiler}{Spoiler}i thought Archie died. He did, but that was in an alternate future. "Life With Archie" was a comic that took place after the gang's school days with them as adults with lives. The final issue of that comic had Archie die. The regular comic keeps the gang is school. Archie is very much alive there.

Actually Archie being one of the few comic companies with huge market penetration is what keeps them going. Most grocery stores,Walmarts,K-marts,etc carry at least the digests. Sonic and Mega Man sell decently. But that is mostly thru comic shops.Newstand sales are still a huge thing for Archie.

When are we going to see Archie vs. Brock Lesnar? Y'know, if the WWE was smart they'd go the Archie Meets route, instead of the Scooby Doo/Flintstones/KISS ones. These days, Archie is more relevant (and consistently mainstream & even headline making) than those other jerks combined.

Speaking of Archie, has anyone ever read the Archie Ninja Turtles comic from the early 90s? I remember reading a good chunk of the original run (as well as the mighty mutanimals spinoff) and being shocked at how deep the storyline could get. It is based off the cartoon continuity (at least the first seasons of it) but goes off into bizzare directions.

I rather like the current artist (Cory Smith, I believe?) and how he works the modern animated look of the Turtles into the book, but Allan's Turtles will just always seem...... right. And since we got his artwork for so long, most others really need to stick around to compare.

TMNT Adventures from Archie was a good comic. Much better than the horrid cartoon it was based on. But it doesn't come close to the Mirage series.
