Reminiscent of the famous Savage/Flair redo where they had a shit match and Vince chewed them out and made them redo it, here we have the lactating loser himself coming out to save the Undertaker (big evil era, bleh) and for some reason they have this ridiculous green hoss doing some stupid karate kicks which he stumbles around foolishly. Then you have Tazz hilariously botching his lines screeching like a little girl "wha whooa jons spinkickkurrate a "you f'd up chant" and then you had some planted signs (likely) in the first row trying to spell out G'day (perhaps they were trying to push that as Jones viral catchphrase) of course the D forgets to put his sign up so they simply spell out GAY. Then after what I'm sure was a backstage browbeating, Albert is forced to come out and redo the spot with Jones www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzmFBBVTnC0

The best part was after the retake they play Taker's music and it like "You done it now! You've gone and made a big mistake!"

Did this air with the screw-up, the crew and ref telling Undertaker it had to be redone, and then them re-doing it? I don't remember this.
Surely they edited it for broadcast?

This is probably footage acquired with a satellite dish. There's other stuff floating around such as dark matches, and the one time Undertaker and Paul Bearer practiced the incident with the cement at Great American Bash 04.

Man what a cringer. To be honest I don't even think the initial botch is that bad, Nathan had to act fast, went for a spin kick that could've killed a guy and lost some balance, judging by the redo it wasn't completely off the mark from what it was supposed to be, it doesn't appear that Jones was ever supposed to hit him anyways, I'd much rather just stick with that than subject an audience to that weird short eternity that it took them to find a way to make up for it.

That look on Takers' face in the corner...
"I'm too old for this shit."

That was interesting. I always wondered how retakes were done, whether any attempt was made for it to look organic for the live audience or not.

Nathan Jones is a legit martial artist, isn't he? Perhaps a martial finger painter at that point in time. ... I kid, I kid--everybody stumbles every now and again. Also, shouldn't this be on the WWE boards?

Here is an odd dark "training session" with UT yelling at Jones and tossing some jobbers around. Not sure if this ever made it on the air either www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBPsWarWRb4

Not sure if this ever made it on the air either www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBPsWarWRb4It has a Sky One ID bug in the top left hand corner so it did go out at least to the UK. From what I remember (and this was twelve years ago!), this was all they showed. It was probably taped pre-SmackDown, after Velocity taped and they changed the ring aprons and graphics over. That retake video is great!! I can imagine Taker's eyes rolling rather than going into the back of his head

This is the first I've ever seen or heard of this.
In listening to their words, bless Heyman for doing what he can to make it believable why they would return for the live crowd, and looking at it 12 years later, I do wonder what of Big Show and Undertaker saying was shoot and what was real frustration.
Some people in the YouTube comments say they can pick up Taker telling the ref to do it again so that Taker's music plays. Anyone else able to decipher this?

I'd love to hear Taker's thoughts on Jones.
