Neither of them particularly interest me but you know that cliche about never say never. Fact is there have been a lot of guys who've risen to the top and main evented when two years before people would have fallen to the floor laughing if a main event run had been suggested. Who would have seen Sexual Chocolate Mark Henry and thought some day that guy would be main eventing with the WHC? Right now I don't see either of the two you mentioned as main eventers but I won't say it could never happen.

Jimmy... eh, he's kind of unproven as a single's guy. I would need to see more from him before I could say one way or another. My gut says no though.
Alex Riley? That ship sailed long ago. And it's since sunk and been plundered of everything remotely salvageable.

Jimmy Uso, no. I really have no interest in seeing a perfectly good tag team in the Usos broken up.
Alex Riley. I will probably mark out at him getting some kind of shine, but be disappointed by the end result. WWE needs to truly get behind him and allow him to grow. The real difference between Riley and most of their "chosen ones" is whether or not they'll give up on the guy when things get rough.

Jimmy hasn't had really any singles matches that indicate he could. However, we've never really seen him try so eh I'm down with that.
Riley? Lord no.

If Gohan is more powerful at base form, why does he go SSJ? Ah, the convoluted nature of DBZ power levels. At least it isn't quite Bleach, where everyone happens to randomly gain power and abilities. On topic: If they're built up well, sure.

When Riley was being built up to fight Owens and he cut that one good promo I remember thinking 'maybe it's time to give this guy a second chance,' but then he wrestled and he still had his default create-a-wrestler mode moveset and no idea of how to sell his story in matches and I remembered why he fizzled out. And then I discovered his Twitter and now I'm back to finding his entire existence irritating if mildly amusing again. Jimmy's match on Main Event last week was pretty tedious, but he's got six months to get better as a singles wrestler. They really need to give him at least something of a makeover though, he's giving off post-Shad's-release JTG vibes now.

Jimmy Uso, while a good tag wrestler, doesn't really do anything particularly well enough to warrant getting a big singles push.
And as for Alex Riley, I wouldn't even accept him as a midcarder.

I can't really see the Usos as main eventers, but that's only because I haven't seen them as single stars yet. It could happen. Who knows? Edge AND Christian were break-up breakouts in their own right.
Alex Riley, on the other hand? I don't think I could accept him as a midcard star nowadays. He's been in the company over five years, and still wrestles like a rookie. There are guys on the main roster his age who are already being transitioned into the old guard.

They really need to give him at least something of a makeover though, he's giving off post-Shad's-release JTG vibes now. He actually added new moves to his moveset (did the Moonlight Drive and Blockbuster in his match with CJ Parker), and actually did MORE moves back when he was green as f*** (Implant DDT, that weird jumping corner DDT that looked like he was gordbuster-ing himself, super arm drag, backdrop uranage). He really didn't get to show much since his match with Owens was just a glorified squash. Alex Riley, on the other hand? I don't think I could accept him as a midcard star nowadays. He's been in the company over five years, and still wrestles like a rookie. There are guys on the main roster his age who are already being transitioned into the old guard. He wrestles like a wrestler who has been wrestling popcorn break matches for most of the time that he's allowed to actually wrestle. If he's already part of the "old guard", then they should get what they can out of what little time he has left, even if its' just to job. Part of the reason he "still wrestles like a rookie" is because he wasn't even being used for most of those five years, not even as just an enhancement talent. \ Everyone says that "Alex Riley sucks" but he isn't being allowed to actually grow into anything the way that other "limited" workers have, and thus it's just this self fulfilling prophecy that he'll just continue to suck because he isn't gaining the proper seasoning that he needs to improve.

I've never even seen a Jimmy Uso singles match and I'd pick him without even a second thought because of what my options are.

Jimmy Uso should go to NXT while Jay is out. This should be what NXT is for. He could learn how to be a singles babyface for 6 months, even though as soon as Jay cones back he will go to the main roster as part of The Usos. They are the perfect tag team. But,still would add to him as a performer to learn, especially with the kinda talent that is down there now.

The Uso's are pretty good wrestlers, have charisma and personality, and aren't bad at cutting promos. So either of them could be good single wrestlers I'm sure. It's going to be interesting how they book Jimmy Uso since Jey is injured for the next six months. I would have the injured Uso still hang around being his corner in all of his matches and shit

The Usos are a good tag team, but if they broke up right now both of them would fail because they haven't developed individual characters at all. It'd be like breaking up the Hardy's when they were still the 'New Brood'.

I'm really tired.

Jimmy Uso could main event a RAW/SmackDown with Jay in a multi team tag match. Alex Riley could main event a weekly NXT episode, if its against Owens/Zayn/Balor (or the like.
So yeah, no...not really.

I think bitter heel Riley could work as a character. That "I have nowhere else to go" promo had a certain sadness to it that could be used to launch a vendetta against all the NXT guys that are passing him by. It's natural that he'd be jealous about never getting to benefit from the set-up they all enjoy now.
Transitioning that to the main roster would be tough but if he and some of his contemporaries formed a stable and he improved in the ring I may accept him in a semi main-event role.
I can't see him standing on his own though.
If Jimmy Uso was revealed as "Little Jimmy" I'd accept him as a main eventer, I'd have to as we'd be in a boom period.

The thing is with The Usos is that it really isn't one or the other that stands out, but the team itself. One good thing about the other twin tag team in WWE, The Bellas, is that both have become pretty distinct, and I argue that Nikki and Brie need to go solo as a heel and face respectively because of how different the characters have become. To be straight up, The Usos are barely differentiable appearance-wise, much less than character-wise. It could change, but it couldn't happen now.

Neither but if 1 must than Uso. I'd have probably said Riley until he started wrestling again on NXT and I see that he absolutely sucks and the only good thing about him is his theme music.

Yeah the only thing that sets Jimmy apart from Jey is the fact that Jimmy gets to be a character on Total Divas due to his marriage to Naomi .
