Just realized he's been MIA for a long time at this point. No particular reason I'd happen to notice that right at this point in time, nossir.

After the last run, I hope not.

I hope not.
There's no point if he's just coming back to do nothing. It's nice that he's having solid matches and putting over younger talents, but imo he's just losing matches other people could be losing instead.

It'd be cool to see him in NXT for a few matches. WWE aren't willing to do anything long-term with him due to his bizarre contract, so he just winds up facing Del Rio a dozen times and jobbing to everybody.

Only way I'd accept him coming back is as a heel since he's been face for 15 years now.

When did Rob Van Dam become a Misfit in Action?

Rob shows up whenever he wants. Props to him. He also doesn't steal Wrestlemania spotlight, he just shows up and puts guys over. I've got no problem with it. And Rob has repeatedly on Twitter squashed the rumours about his 'bizarre contract.'

He did an interview recently and he didn't seem too happy with how he was booked during his last run, stating that he felt "just kinda there" and that the writers didn't really have anything for him to do which is actually true.

I'm a huge RVD fan but at this point I really have no particular desire to see him back in WWE. What's the point? Given that he's just there 3 months at a time they can't really push him all that hard. The problem then becomes WWE jobbing him to everyone, which in turn lessens his value and doesn't especially get anyone over. And then if they try to increase his value by putting him over others people cry out about jobbing younger guys to a part timer.

I have zero desire to see RVD in the ring doing his stale 1998 moves.

Van Dam probably is best off wrestling these indie card dream matches at this point, stuff like him and Sabu vs. the Hardys or matches with AJ Styles. The distressing thing about his last WWE run was not just the lack of direction, it was also that for the first time it was blatant that guy has lost a step. He still had some really good matches at times, but also there were some nights where he was just way off. The first Cesaro match wasn't good at all and neither was one with Del Rio in the UK. As a wrestler he's become the anti Jericho. Jericho is someone who at this point is only capable of pedestrian, mediocre matches. Van Dam is more wildly inconsistent. Some nights he's the old RVD, other nights he's really off his game.

Somebody please go behind the building and find RVD; his match goes on in fifteen minutes.
