Lame Rosebud outfits like the Hotdog, Fries and The Bunny. Also the fake British accent. It's not fake. He's from South Africa.

His accent.
Seriously though, a mix of the commentary and the bunny. Just why.

Why can they not just have fun characters who are not total jokes? 100% of the crowed know it is entertainment, not ever character has to be super serious all the time. If you recall the Attitude Era, the very gimmicky characters were some of the most over I feel like WWE today is the worst case outcome of people constantly saying that wrestling is fake. Characters aren't allowed to be characters without obviously pandering to kids, commentary has to tell us how "fun" everything is, and someone having even a hint of charisma usually ends up turning heel or abandoning what they were doing entirely. Everything has to be "real" now and it's soooooooooo boring.

Same thing that goes wrong with a lot of newbies. A hero's only as good as his villains, and Rose hasn't had any feuds worth checking out since he got called up. Even Big E had his series with Rusev that I think opened a lot of eyes for both men. This was made obvious a couple of months ago when Rose had a match with Breeze on NXT. As Breeze has a strongly defined character and some dignity Rose was able to effectively play his mindgames. On Raw Adam's opponents just didn't have the same character development or dignity which undermines his whole approach to a match. If he had opponents like Regal, JBL or even the usually boring Del Rio the gimmick would have worked a lot better. Throw in the lack of time he had to polish the gimmick, the entrance music, stupid commentry and other issues and the poor guy had no chance through little fault of his own.

I really liked adam rose in nxt. First time I saw nxt was the first ppv special and he made his debut. I loved the whole presentation. They showed a video of some backstage party that was like a 60s psychedelic party austin powers would have loved. Rose was kind of lounging around upstairs and it created the aura that he was some mystical party god. When it got to wwe only a few weeks later the vibe had changed to a party city commercial.
He had an Adrian street or early goldust vibe where he was being effeminate in the ring and psyching out opponents with the lollipop and kicking the while hanging in the ropes. That disappeared soon after his wwe debut. He should have converted jack swagger and or zeb to the rosebuds. He lost his aura after the debut and the rosebuds scene became less fun and magical and more annoying. His rosebuds costumes suck and they are boring at ringside. The constant dancing is tired and lame. They should talk and praise adam rose like cult followers and attack opponents. Rose should bring back his personality and develop feuds fans can be interested in.

I honestly think Adam Rose just misses being Leo Krugahhhh he was 333% better in the ring and even though it was an NXT crowd he literally got the Universe to *grunt* along with him by just walking in the arena. Compare that to the Universe being bored to tears while watching a bunch of Exotic Express Extras fake-parties at ringside and feigns interest in the lackluster squash Rose (and now Rosa) are involved with in the ring.

They really should have worked out that idea. That he's somewhat on the "strange and unknowable" side, a hedonist that just showed up one day without much of a background and charmed talent relations into giving him a contract, and the Rosebuds should more be psychedelic drifters (without going full-on "Far Out Van Hammer" or "Buzzkill Brad Armstrong"); a little bit philosophical, a little bit lost souls that Adam shows the meaning of life through partying. Something like a less sleazy, less L. Ron Hubbard-y version of Philip Seymour Hoffman's character from "The Master".

The Adam Rose accent is basically a Russell Brand impression. His real accent sounds more Dutch/Afrikaans. The accent he uses towards the end of his run as Leo Kruger is basically his real accent turned up to eleven.

I've never seen the Leo Krueger gimmick, but it is insane to me to think that you have a guy feuding with a bunny and DON'T bring out his hunter alter ego.

He had two feuds, neither of which had a PPV blow off, Jack Swagger and The Bunny.
I won't call it lack of direction, it was absence of any direction.
It's also what went wrong with Bo, and the Ascension.
WWE doesn't book a story > Talent can't get over > WWE justifies not booking story as talent isn't over
As always WWE HR rep possibly reading this post, give me a PM if you want to offer me a job.

They could have easily made him into a main event superstar if they had rehired Kevin Fertig, and given the duo the gimmick of Adam being nice to other superstars, only for Kevin to attack them...
...because every Rose has its Thorn.

That type of gimmick, I think, works in a small intimate venue. You expand that into large arenas and it looks like a bunch of goobers dancing.

His gimmick doesn't "Translate" to the larger venues. and tbh sometimes he looked a little lost doing the gimmick, he wasn't completely sold on it either

It had no direction. He feuds with Swagger and Coulter over literally nothing. They just assumed because there was dancing and bright colours that this would equate to funny and entertaining. and having the three least hip and cool people in your company in the booth telling everyone that we're having fun ad nauseam its doomed to failure.

If they had Raw in London every week Fandango and Adam Rose would be the faces of the company!

No lower midcard belt hurts dudes who aren't ready for IC/US (and until recently devalued IC/US as everyone had a run with it ready or not) and they can't be bothered to write storylines for midcard dudes who don't have a belt.
Think of how interesting the Euro title made D'lo, X-Pac, Shane, Al Snow ect as well as being a stepping stone to Y2Js, Angles, Eddies ME spots.....bring it (or a TV title) back!

I found him annoying from the get go and even more so when he started doing those stupid skits with Santino advertising iced tea or whatever they were.

What has his character even attempted since debuting, never mind achieved?
