Here's the thing, they're all his guys regardless of who gets pushed at the end of the day. This "Your" guy vs "Vince" guy civil war is some weird meta-kayfabe. If that was the WWE's attitude too, the war wouldn't exist.

Right when the match was over I was thinking "Well, seems Roman might be good afterall." Then Cole and Company said "ROMAN HAS ARRIVED" 27 times and I was reminded that the companies attitude towards the guy pissed me off more than the guy himself. Yeah. I was finding myself enjoying him too then that took me out of it. I mean, the match was kind of same old stuff from the two...BUT it was entertaining with a few different spots mixed in to keep it fresh. Then the forced buzzword shit kicked in and I was out of the moment.

The match was OK, but the crowd didn't wake up til the spot orgy at the end. Earlier on you had Roman standing up from the KO Punch at 9.5 to absolutely zero reaction, and a 'JBL' chant during the heat of the battle. People are so desperate to perform a complete U-turn in opinion when someone who was previously shoddy shows signs of improvement (see also Nikki Bella). That's not a slight on Roman though, he's getting there, I just hope they pace themselves else the goodwill he's slowly garnering could evaporate again.

I was kind of surprised how unsmarky the crowd was throughout the night with both Reigns and Cena being getting relatively positive reactions. As for the Reigns/Big Show match I thought it was alright but not as good as people are making it out to be. I think it was one of those things where it gets overrated due to the expectations being so low going in. I thought it put Reigns over well but at the same time did him a disservice. Like the Brock match they did a nice job putting over his toughness which I liked with him withstanding the KO punch and the chokeslam through the table but because they are always so hell bent on protecting Show for some reason they then made Reigns finisher look weak by having Big Show get up after two of them with one being through the barricade and the other through a table. It was still decent though and probably the third best match on the show for me after the tag match and Orton/Rollins.
I'm also not as sold on Reigns improving just due to the fact that his last three PPV matches have been good. Yeah I think he definitely held his own in the Bryan match but to me the other two were smoke and mirror situations to hide limitations. In the Brock match which admittedly was really good and to me one of the few highlights of Wrestlemania, he just got beat up the whole time until the last few minutes and then the Big Show match was last man standing match a hardcore style match where they can brawl around the ring and use weapons. If it was a regular match it would've been pretty mediocre just like the hundreds of other matches they've had on TV.

I was glad to see him cheered in that environment, because it proved to me that the inevitable Shield reunion won't fail under hatred of Reigns.

I'm turning around on him. I liked him in The Shield and when the Shield broke up, I still liked him. I think the injury and how it was still a forgone conclusion (at the time) that he was going to win the Title soured me on him. I feel like he is working his a** off right now and he is starting to win me over.

Looking at Reigns's last three PPV matches, he has had the luxury of wrestling the best guy in the company who carry a broomstick to a five-star match, bumped around like a ragdoll for Brock Lesnar for 20 minutes, and then he had a garbage wrestling spot fest with him surviving about every stock finish of a Last Man Standing match WWE has ever booked.
Now, I will give credit to Roman for performing his assigned roles well. The guy can certainly take a beating, which is the common denominator in all of his PPV showings since the Rumble made it clear that they hadn't sold the audience on Reigns yet.
But, my standards are very high for main-event World title contenders, and while WWE has done a great job of masking the dude's weaknesses three PPVs in a row, it still remains to be seen whether Roman can have good main event performances without out the handicaps he has been afforded the last few months. The second WWE decided that Roman was going to be the guy, it was their responsibility to show that he is the best guy in the company for that job. And I'm still not seeing it.
I look at the last three months, and instead I wonder what would have happened if Dolph Ziggler or Dean Ambrose got to have a great PPV main event with Daniel Bryan, and then got to bump around for Lesnar, and have a garbagey brawl with Big Show. They want to sell me on Roman Reigns as the #1 guy, they are going to have to make me not dread the idea of him in a back and forth singles main event on Raw without stipulations, or him opening up Raw with a 15 minute dueling promo with the Authority. Suffice to say, he's not there yet.

Being there it felt much less smarky than the crowd that was there for Payback in 2013. A lot more families/kids. I was wondering if the departure of CM Punk had some Chicago fans sitting this one out.

Reigns is improving (even though the gimmick/stipulation helped him in this match. Its seems pretty hard to have a 'bad' match with weapons etc), but Big Show deserves a lot of credit for his performance last night

We seriously need Reigns/Sheamus and Lesnar/Sheamus Reigns vs. Sheamus vs. Lesnar vs. BNB. Four way no DQ match.

No reason to boo him now. He's not the world champ and is improving.
