Good for him. I think he's doing well in 2015, and that losing at Mania has helped him. Good match against Bryan, epic match versus Bork and pulled a pretty entertaining match out of Local Show last night.
Thoughts?
(Extreme rules was in Chicago right? I was expecting him to be booed. I like it when faces actually get cheered ala Austin, Hogan & Rock in their primes).

He's kind of an odd case like Cena in that sometimes when it's expected he'd be shit on, he does well with the crowd. Not getting the title did seem to give some fans a bit more slack towards him.

At the end of the day I believe fans want to know that the top guy has earned his spot. With Reigns he was injured and came back and was quickly thrust into the Mania main event without really putting on a performance post-injury that said he deserved it. Add that in with some of the worst booking I've ever seen and there was no reason for the fans to accept it. He took some extremely hostile crowds in stride and knocked it out of the park in the Mania main event. He's taken his bumps and I believe the fans are now more willing to accept him now that he has had to work pretty hard to earn that spot back. I don't think he is ready for that spot yet, but if he continues to put on solid performances I believe the crowd will be fully behind him when he does finally get the nod.

It sounds like it's still mainly women cheering for him but he did get some love, nowhere near enough to suggest the tide will turn though, we shall see.

I still think he should be the one that takes the US Title off Cena in an open challenge.

Please people, tell me more about how 'green' Roman is. Three great PPV matches in a row, and this time I think we can safely say that no, he wasn't carried (not that he was in the other two either).

That match that has been overplayed, overdone, and thrown through the wringer, actually wound up being one of the best matches of the night.
Amazing really. It's like Show and Reigns decided to forget every shitty match they had and go out there and beat the shit out of each other to such a degree it felt like a damn video game where the guys were button mashing to get up before 10. In a good way
I didn't like the finish too much with Roman having to STAND on Show to get him down, I don't know feels cheap, not Duct Tape cheap but that he couldn't keep Show down without throwing a "Strong Table" and himself onto him. The match was good regardless I just still don't see the appeal of making Big Show look so unbeatable in 2015
I think many of us were a bit out of proportion on Roman, I'm giving him more of a fair shot now, I will say this though, if his next feud does end up being vs Kane then Booking really has it out for the guy. I'd honestly much rather him see build to a Sheamus match. Those two will beat the shit out of each other and it's a match I would actually want to see... Have Sheamus have the blowoff match with Dolph where he wins, and Roman do... something with someone who isn't Show or Kane, and it can be, with the right booking (Always fickle in the E's case) a great match for Summerslam. Even the Intercontinental Title Match if Bryan has to relinquish it...

We seriously need Reigns/Sheamus and Lesnar/Sheamus

He definitely carried his own weight vs. Bryan, but against Lesnar the booking covered any flaws in his game. When your role is to get the shit stiffed out of you for 90% of the match and keep getting up it's hard to screw that up. Kudos to Reigns for winning over the crowds though, he's got huge potential and WWE sorely need guys like him to fulfil their potential.

The Lesnar match was very gimmicky, the Big Show one was pretty decent but had some noticeable problems with it, I didn't like the Bryan match, and his Raw matches still are pretty universally terrible. He's definitely improving, but he still has flaws and I still don't think he's ready for the position he's in.

The company was pretty brilliant last night with the Reigns/Show match. The audience was demanding tables during Ambrose/Harper last night and what do they do? Don't let Ambrose/Harper pull out a table and use multiple ones during the Reigns/Show match. Ambrose loves pulling out tables, hell he did a Wizard Con thing a few days ago with Reigns saying the elbow drop through a table was his favorite move to do. He's been using tables more than anyone has since the Shield broke up and you mean to tell me that he couldn't do 1 here? Yeah, the company obviously knew that's what the crowd wanted and saved all of it for the later match.
Besides that Reigns has been slowly getting better but what makes his matches better are the workers he's in the ring with. Bryan can have a 5 star with a stuffed animal, Lesnar just beat Reigns up the entire time and Reigns didn't get the title which was huge, now Big Show did his thing here. I don't care what anyone says but Show is amazing. He called the spots, put Reigns in position, took the offense, he did everything including amazing heel work to get that boy over and he did. Big Show's one of the most underrated talents in the past 20 years. He's proved time and time again that when the time comes for him to be great, he can be great.
Overall it's a combination of the company's booking and Reigns opponents that have helped Reigns out in the long run. Yeah he's as improved but it's more than that and frankly speaking, his own improvement is actually lower on the totem pole compared to these other factors.

Right when the match was over I was thinking "Well, seems Roman might be good afterall."
Then Cole and Company said "ROMAN HAS ARRIVED" 27 times and I was reminded that the companies attitude towards the guy pissed me off more than the guy himself.

Also the drop kick on the apron was great yesterday. Reigns offence is pretty good.
On another note I hate that thing ambrose does where he and his opponent are outside the ring, his opponent rolls ambrose in the ring and dean does that weird roll back out and hit then thing

he got cheered and booed during the pre-match interview but the crowd was dead for the majority of that match...
Not that I can blame them I found the match pretty bland.

Big Show deserves some credits too for the fine heel work. he's really a master at handling crowd.
Reigns is improving rapidly. His promo work is still somewhat shoddy, but he's backing up in ring these days. Often the best match on the show. Now 3rd ppv on row, he worked with different style of opponent and different style of match. He held is own, won the crowd over (tbf, there were more cheers than boos, look like majority of crowd now seeing him as someone who's beyond the title and working midcard) and had a hellacious battle.
That's the first step, now get him work more midcard matches, with Harper or Sheamus who can give kickass stiff-fests, keep him outside title scene for a while, build him back right in time for next year's rumble. Brock/Reigns have set such high standards with tremendous big match hype for their match so much so that i want to see the rematch with a split crowd.

It seems like Sheamus is the next logical feud for him. Not that he would be sticking up for the "little guys" but more because they will beat the hell out each other. Roman works really good matches when u lay in good hits on him and he's a underrated seller. They have a good approach with him right now, he's building his confidence in the ring and his mic skills will come around as his confidence builds.

I haven't watched Raw in weeks but his Mania match with Lesnar really turned me around on Reigns. I'd cheer for him if I got to see him live.

He is improving but there is still that sense of entitled inevitability about it that leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
It took thousands of fans threatening to lynch their biggest show of the year for them to finally say 'okay, fine, we're not going to put the belt on our guy. But we're STILL not putting it on your guy either.'
There is going to be a dreary, depressing lack of tension in Reigns' next title match (unless it happens before Brock next reappears).

Here's the thing, they're all his guys regardless of who gets pushed at the end of the day. This "Your" guy vs "Vince" guy civil war is some weird meta-kayfabe. THIS!
