Blassie sold the contracts of Sheik and Volkoff to Slick at some point in 86-what was the reason for this? Did they explain that Freddie was ready to retire? How long did they work together and was there any kind of send off for Freddie?

They co-managed them (and also Hercules) before Slick bought their contracts outright. Blassie was retiring, and this was their way of writing him out.

Blassie would only show up for TV tapings/PPVs and the bigger house shows on the east coast anyway so Slick was a better choice for them. it looks like Blassie's last appearance as manager was late September of 1986.
