Can you be arrested for Twitter comments?

Hey I recently had my account suspended over spat with twitter feminists but I was thinking, can you be arrested for this?

I didn't threaten any violence or harm or anything, just made fun of the way they looked.

Why would you make fun of the way someone looks?

And yes as far as I know you can be arrested or at least questioned over comments deemed racist or threatning. I doubt you have much to worry about though.

I was just trolling,  but I never threatened any violence, I just wanted to know if you can be arrested for simply making fun of the way people looked?  but I said nothing threatening.

I don't think racist comments or any of the sort will have you arrested(free speech and all).Banned yeah,of course.

I think only if you threaten someone or something of the genre you will be arrested(or of course,if you post contract-breaching information).But making fun is not a reason to arrest.

I know man I pooped up, I don't really do it at all, just started trolling feminist pictures after the whole "FeministsAreUgly" hashtag and then I got suspended, but then I read on the news about how 2 people in the UK got arrested over feminist comments on Twitter.

Well saying racist i mean saying stupid shit like "____ people are ruining today's society".But even so if you say someone is inferior because of their race,can they be arrested? I assumed not from my knowledge as long harassing or violence were not involved.

Edit: Also ,different places,differents Laws,i read UK was looking into punishing people for online trollling.

Instead of checking a forum,you should probably google the Law

The police have better things to do than go out and crack skulls because people said mean shit on the Internet. Generally if you don't make someone kill themselves and you aren't saying stuff about some high profile person nothing will happen other than you losing your account. It's still not a nice thing to do though.

2nd year Law student here, for what it's worth, but I'm pretty sure unless it was classed as hate speech (I.E calling out specific features that could do with race or gender etc), legally it's not criminal unless you did it so much that it could be constituted as harassment.

Either way, c***ish thing to do dude.
