Yeah Toyfare isn't some crazy word I made up for my name, but it was my favorite magazine ever. Not because of its coverage of the action figure industry. Not because of its price guide. No the reason it was my fave mag ever was because of its humor. Awhile back someone threw away all my old copies of Toyfare, and I wasn't pleased to say the least. So I bought the first 3 volumes of Best of Twisted Toyfare Theater, and the 10th anniversary edition. Reading all these again its amazing how well they've held up. Now I started reading Toyfare when it was launched as its own rag in 1997, and I stopped somewhere in the fall of 2002. It seemed like it was changing, and I wasn't even collecting figures anymore, I just read it for TTT and the other funny things they printed. I know how a good chunk of the Toyfare writers went on to do Robot Chicken and all that, and while Robot Chicken had funny moments, it just wasn't the same for me. So I'm glad I have these collections, because as I said they still hold up well, they're nostalgic for me, and most importantly they really had a hand in shaping my sense of humor. So who else was a fan?

This was my favorite part too. I think I read it from the beginning to 2002 as well. I stopped by magazines in general around that time.

Remember the Crisis on Infinite Earths parody, where they visited all kinds of other comic universes (as well as the Star Wars EU)? Classic stuff.

The first one I ever read was a story about the Borg moving in next door to Spidey & was stealing his cable

I loved it!
I have a few "best ofs"
Robot Chicken should have been up my alley, but what little I saw was like sex jokes and stuff for shock value so I didn't watch

I used to love reading them. I've got a handful of Toyfares in a box somewhere. One of my favorite Twisted Toyfare Theater episodes was one that was about the waiting in line for the Phantom Menace. I remember another one about a superhero olympics that was really funny. I looked forward to it every month more than the Toy news and reviews.

Mego Spidey needs to be the Spidey portrayed in the MCU, if only so Thor & Hulk can be his roomies/unwanted tag alongs on his adventures

I discovered the truth behind Bucky's death in one story
Bucky & Michael Hutchence have a lot in common

I was a jerk and would pick up the magazine, read a few of these, chuckle and then not buy it.

Great fun. Sometimes got a little risque... I loved the "Marvel Ultimate Universe tryouts", with the Invisible Woman...
"Mommy hugged a lot of men..."

The first one I ever read was a story about the Borg moving in next door to Spidey & was stealing his cable ::Spidey slams door, but the Borg blocks it with his foot:: Borg - "We have adapted to your offensive capabilities" I think my favorite running gag was how Professor X could really walk, and Cyclops would always catch him and be like "Hey!"

I remember one where it was Falcon and The Thing. The Thing asked about Falcon's origin and it showed Thing imagining him hatching from an egg in a big nest. A sulking Falcon said, "That's better than my origin," and The Thing said, "Har har! How you're not a DC character I'll never know."

i loved it when they started doing them, actually led to me subscribing to toyfare, i liked the early ones before DC went "uuuh...nah! cant use our characters anymore" my favorite of the old ones is when Spiderman watched after Batmans house.
Next one is Spidey asked to join a new avengers type group which involves him defeating a giant cookie...

Used to love picking up the collected volumes. Never read the regular magazine.
