I think mostly if I really like a show I'll give it another chance. There have been at least a couple of cases though.
The first that comes to mind is 30 Rock. I don't remember the episode, but it's the one where at the end they're talking about how attractive the main character is while she is eating cereal and getting milk all over herself. I watched it right after a friend of mine was telling me how much 30 Rock sucks and I was defending it. Then I watched that episode and didn't laugh once. I haven't watched an episode since.
Also, Dexter. I'm not sure what the episode was, but that storyline when he teams up with the hispanic DA. It just got way too stupid. I think I might have finished off watching that storyline, but after that I just couldn't take the show seriously. From there I've heard it gets much worse so I don't really have an interest in revisiting it.

The How I Met Your Mother finale. Honestly, I've had no desire to watch any episode of that show since then.

The Simpsons episode were they go to prison and it ends with them on the Godfather boat looking at the Statue Of Liberty.
The first episode of season 4 of Arrested Development.

Season 5 of Oz where they have Schillinger and Beecher doing the duet together, and that supernatural crap with Luke Perry's character.
Dexter, Season 5.

I think it was the 3rd episode of the new Doctor Who which featured farting aliens. It made me realise that this is no way as good as Classic Who.

Actually, season 4 of Dexter (which came after the Jimmy Smits season) is widely regarded as the best season of the show, after which the entire series drives off a cliff. So if you DID want to revisit, at least get to the end of that season before running for the hills.

The How I Met Your Mother finale. Honestly, I've had no desire to watch any episode of that show since then. I can't go quite as far as that but HIMYM ends in season 7 for me. I still can't believe how bad the finale was.

The Monday Night Raw where Triple H/Cena/Orton beat my favorite wrestler. ...What? SOMEONE was going to do it eventually. For realz, I'm gonna say Degrassi. Pick an episode from season nine. Really. Any episode. It took until the end of season 10 to get me even slightly interested in what ended up being the best half-season the show's had.

I'm surprised I lasted through season 3.

I am not sure which episode of "Sam & Cat" that killed my interest in the show, or at most, Dan Schneider shows as a whole, but I was done with the show when there was another episode involving the English twins. However, what came close was the episode with Goomer fighting in his debut fight, and Sam somehow bested Goomer's opponent after he had insulted Goomer and his friends. The whole schtick of Sam being this superhuman tough girl who can even take professional fighters down just really killed all my interest in those shows. And this is coming from someone who actually liked "iCarly" and "Victorious."

The A-Team - When the government caught them and was forced to work for Stockwell.
Dukes of Hazzard - When they found that space alien.
News Radio - When Phil Hatman died.
Different Strokes - When Mr. Drummond married Dixie Carter (not TNA's Dixie Carter).

the "Kyoya threatens to rape Haruhi" episode of Ouran High School Host Club was so full of misogyny (even without the creepy thing I just mentioned) I had to pretend it didn't happen so I could enjoy the rest of the show.

The How I Met Your Mother finale. Honestly, I've had no desire to watch any episode of that show since then. I've finally gotten back around to occasionally watching episodes on Netflix every now and then and can enjoy em; but it's not the same. Went from one of my favorite shows to just something I like alright within one episode.

So if you DID want to revisit, at least get to the end of that season before running for the hills. Other seasons had their moments, other than the final season. That one was the drizzling poops. The shame of it is that the show had some interesting characters later in the series, but never quite used any of them right. You introduce an intern that seems to have an obsession with Dexter, wants his input on a game he was designing where you are a serial killer, and drops hints here and there that he might know Dexter's secret? Let's have him get killed randomly! You finally introduce an interesting Big Bad, complete with unusual skills and motivations? Best end that story with a whimper! You introduce a dirty cop to be Dexter's newest pain in the ass at work? Have him start banging everyone around Dexter and forget all about his instincts about him! You introduce a former bad guy turned religious leader that makes Dexter question his own motivations and his hobby? Best kill him off real quickly! After all, we can't be exploring possible character development! For that matter, Lumen could have been a longer standing character. I get that it might be hard to keep someone like Julia on a show for too long, but after Season 5 it would have been nice to see that her going away actually affected Dexter in some noticeable way. Again, no need to develop the character of your lead!
