A week or two ago I saw WWE '15 is now on PC. I've been tempted to pick up another WWE game since the last one I bought was 2008. However, I've seen allusion to it not being all that great. So I'd like opinions from those of you who've played any version of it. Worth it?

The word on it basically is that the only actual differences from the next gen console versions (which aren't widely considered to be any good) are that there's no Paige, you can turn the crowd off, and it's moddable. And the mods haven't really come out in force for it yet.

The PC version is basically the same as the current gen, except that all of the DLC is free...except, head-slappingly enough, Paige, because she was exclusive with the Season Pass for consoles.
The game itself is...alright. It's a base (or at least people are hoping) for progress to be made next year. Things like hair, clothing options, even the sliders for creating wrestlers' faces are limited from last year. It looks good, but there's quite a few options missing. There is no Diva CAW,allyou can do is take the few female wrestlers in the game and rename and reclothe them. That's it. Also, the CAW's are limited to 20 and there's only one original entrance, the rest are all the wrestlers in the game.
Basically, it's a step in the right direction, it may be worth it if you don't have anything invested in a console version, and the game is opening up because of modding, but it might be better to wait until '16.

Skip it, it's horribly optimized.

I've only got an wired xbox controller but it seems to serve my needs for gamepads in pc games fine. Plus since MS makes it, just about everything recognizes it no problem.
As for the game, I haven't played a game in a long time so I was considering picking one up, though I figured I'd go with PC since I don't have any current gen consoles. This is actually the first WWE game I've seen for PC which is a big part of why I was even considering it. That said maybe I'll check out the mods and see if that convinces me. Who knows how long we'll have to wait for 16. Actually anyone know? Is '15 the start of PC getting some WWE game love?

Thread hijack: what's the best controller to use with the PC? Xbox 360 controller. No installation necessary and works with most if not all modern PC games. (And I get it working with older games fine too)

I really like it but it depends on how severe the itch is. I managed to pick it up for £25 on release and that feels about right for it. It'll likely be real cheap in a Steam sale soon if you feel you can wait. Thread hijack: what's the best controller to use with the PC? Most PC games come with support for wired 360 pads as is, I hear the XBONE pad is decent as well but I have no experience with that.

I'd wait for the next one.
There are some exceptions, but generally, it takes about a year for a modding community to really get off the ground, even if it's a popular release. By the time WWE15 gets a good selection of mods, WWE16 will be released. Since they use the same engine, the modding community for '16 will probably get a lot of very similar mods relatively quickly, in addition to whatever new ones people develop.
