I was going to say stooge but that would of came off with the wrong intention. What I mean is that compared to Vince's past top guys he's had some issues with them maybe outside the rock but rocky had other ambitions. Cena at 38 I believe seems to still have no ambition but to live his life through WWE. He was married and doesn't seem to want a family of his own as far as I know. He wouldn't put his outside ambitions(acting) outside of his WWE work. It really seems like that he won't stop going full speed for WWE until a limb falls. He may not be loved by the crowd but he draws them to the show, can Vince really ask for a better person after all these years to lead the company.

I don't think it's a case of him not putting outside ambitions ahead of WWE rather than WWE being all he's got.
I mean he's not really a movie star, he doesn't have the look or hollywood charisma. The only films he's really been in are WWE produced ones which say it all, that's not a knock on Cena, I mean Hogan failed as an actor, Austin hasn't done much of value. The Rock, Batista Ventura and to some degree Piper are the only wrestlers who have ever made it in hollywood.
Without the WWE Cena is nothing and he probably knows that.

I don't think it's fair to say Cena is nothing without WWE. If WWE closed today Cena is rich and a great business man. He'd do fine without WWE. Acting maybe not, but other things.

Cena is a true believer, he'll defend the WWE to the bitter end because he has no reason not to, so yes, he's Vince's perfect avatar. He has the look, the drive and he goes with everything the company tells him to do because he has no reason not to, he's replaced Taker as the mouthpiece for management, even lecturing people for having the audacity to use icepacks in the lockerroom.
He's never been mistreated by them, he's never been booked in ways designed to kill his heat so genuinely seems to believe in the will of management, that there's a bright future for those who grab the brass ring and he has no reason to seek fame and fortune elsewhere, he's doing what he loves for a company that will never, ever allow anyone else to eclipse him while he's a full time performer.

I have always said Cena is exactly what the Mr McMahon character of the attitude era was speaking of when he always touted of wanting the complete opposite of Stone Cold and now looking back you can see those were more than likely genuine words.
Family friendly , someone he can send anywhere and he himself be proud of no matter how his own audience reacts to the guy...if Vince could clone Cena , he would I am sure of it.

I agree with what you are saying. There's a reason guys like Orton, Punk, Batista, Bryan are only number ones for a short term. Orton to me wouldn't be able to take on the full responsibility Cena has gone considering he has his daughter and will never drop below number 3 top guy. Punk is too much of a rebel I doubt he would take the spot Cena is in now fighting midcarders. Bryan is proving too injury prone but he essentially has the Edge spot which isn't horrible.

If this were true he wouldn't be getting Let's Go Cena Cena Sucks chants. That's the result of bog standard WWE babyface booking rather than an intentional attempt to sabotage him or transfer his heat to their preferred star. They stripped him of his edge like they do with everyone else to try and sell t-shirts then fed all comers to him, it's a long way from being squashed in under a minute at a major PPV or having your hottest run in the company become all about the son in law and his pal.

He's the perfect guy for WWE to have in the spot. His private life is controversy free, he is good looking, can speak exceptionally well, is entertaining, has name value and conducts himself well in non-WWE public venues. As an added touch he is exceptionally passionate about WWE and wrestling in general.
Every wrestling promotion in the world would give anything to have someone like him on their roster.
