To build him up so he could make Roman look strong.

To emphasize WWE's slogan will always truly be Then, Then, Then.

So no one would actually get a rub from winning it.

That's the exact same problem they had last year when Cesaro won it. Why bother having a Battle Royale that's supposed to be important, and not continue with the momentum? It's just a waste of an awesome concept.

What was the point of Cesaro winning when they just destroyed the trophy the next night and never used it to build his character or capitalize on the momentum? The only reason for the battle total is to have a battle total and get more people on the card.

Because Vince McMahon nowadays has no sense of foresight.
Or hindsight.
Or insight.
His sight's probably not much better.

The Andre Battle Royal isn't supposed to get anyone over yet, its job is simply to sell Mania tickets and get some wrestlers paid for Mania. If they stick with it though, a decade or two down the line that trophy is going to mean something. And when it does mean something, Cesaro will be forever known as the first ever Andre winner, which will help his old-timer image that he'll have by then. And Big Show has to be on that trophy too, and early, because Giants.

What was the point in Cesaro winning it last year?
Nothing. It's a pointless match used to shove a bunch of guys onto the Mania card.

The "Creative Has Nothing For You" Memorial Battle Royal.

Because for the last ten years, we've been told how the Big Show was an odds-on favorite for every battle royale he's ever been in, so he had to get at least one win under his belt. Besides, as was stated above, the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale was never meant do anything other than ensure everybody gets a WrestleMania payday.
Big Show got more out of the damned thing than Antonio Cesaro did just doing the Andre the Giant pose every night.

I figure since they always act like he's a major threat in battle royals and the Rumble, that they should probably actually have him win one of them for a change.

Still did more than Cesaro did when he won the trophy.
That's quite sad really. That win by Cesaro should have been the catapult to a top-level, not to mid-card matches and a losing streak gimmick.

Where's he even at anyway? Is he hurt or is he just getting some time off?
