25 years ago the world lost Jim Henson. His greatness touched so many, and still continues to touch so many people to this day.

I didn't realize that when I watched Just One Person song from his funeral. That one gets to me every time.

The full special is up on YouTube, as well.
Yeah, between this and his actual memorial service, nothing makes me tear up easier. It's so obvious how much his friends truly loved him.

Wow. 25 years ago this morning I remember where I was - getting ready for a Disney vacation and hearing the news on the radio that Henson (and Sammy Davis Jr.) had died late in the day before. ........and it's reminded me of 22 years later, when I was already on another Disney vacation and Jerry Nelson (The Count, Floyd, Lew Zeland) died as well. 2 of my 5 Disney vacations have coincided with Muppet deaths. And for many years, I thought he died of some form of cancer, thus thinking he knew he was dying for a while. But oh no, he died of something much more preventable (a viral infection & toxic shock, basically) - in the words of some, he didn't deal with it quickly because he had a knack of not wanting to "be a bother."

Still sucks to this day that he died of something that could have been prevented. If he had lived through that pneumonia, he might very well be alive today. The Muppets might have never had that dip in quality they had in the 2000s or ended up getting bought by the Mouse House.

Waiting for a snarky comment how Disney caused a Muppet death in general.
