– In what could be a potential spoiler for the vacant WWE Intercontinental Title, Sheamus is being advertised as champion for upcoming WWE live events. As noted, a new champion will be crowned inside the Elimination Chamber at the May 31st pay-per-view on the WWE Network.

Sometimes those are inaccurate, but I think he'd be a pretty solid option at the moment.

Yeah, I'd be fine with him being champ next.

I love heel Sheamus something fierce so I'm game for this.
Feud with Neville, who is little, but strong as shit... for the title... I'm salivating...

I like it. Sheamus can do what Bryan was supposed to and keep the IC title at a high level. Keep it on him until WrestleMania, where Bryan can make his triumphant return by making Sheamus tap in 17 seconds.

Really feel like he should have had the belt last year rather than have a repeat U.S run, but it should work well for him. His heel persona has reignited him as a character

Well, people are liking him as a heel. Plus he's upper-midcard enough that he can hopefully elevate the Title like Bryan would have.

Perfectly fine with that, as long as he eventually drops it to Neville.

As long as they doesn't become a jobber on Raw/Smackdown, I don't care who becomes champion.
Give them a long reign with very feuds to build this title back up again.

He is quickly gaining Local status in my heart. Just give it to Neville or RTruth or someone that hasn't been destroyed by years of Creative.

R-Truth hasn't been destroyed by years of Creative? His disappearing for stints far longer than he's used helps. I mean it in the sense that even being Vince's favorite/BFF doesn't stop them from booking him like a sorta kinda geek when he IS around. He's in this weird position where he's far beneath guys like Sheamus, etc. but he's not super down on his luck jobberific enough where they could make a huge Cinderella story out of it and the fans would seriously rally behind the idea of him "finally getting a chance" (e.g. Ryder's US Title chase). Guys like Barrett, Ziggler, Sheamus, and Miz have all taken their respective falls from grace, but WWE still sorta kinda half ass pretends that they're still "important" and presents them with a bit of gravitas that they don't really do with R-Truth. It's like even if the IC belt was still "the jobber title", he'd still be a step down for the belt and actively go against what WWE were trying to accomplish when they put the title on Bryan to begin with. He'd be a great guy for Cena's open challenge, but not someone I'd put the #2 belt on...unless he goes heel, starts talking about conspiracies, and starts making REEEEEMIXes with Miz again.
