It rarely gets mentioned when talking about the greatest feuds, but Rick Rude vs Ricky Steamboat in WCW. My Zod, that feud was great, and I applaud WCW for seeing the work those 2 were doing, and basically making that their top feud. They pretty much made those 2 feuding for the US Title the main focus over the World Title. The Iron Man match is probably the 3rd best behind Angle vs Lesnar and HHH vs Rocky I had a weird childhood of being the baby brother of 90's wrestling hipsters, so the angle I remember best is when they popped in a tape and I saw Liger vs. Muta from 96. You don't need to understand an ounce of Japanese to be told the story, it's that good.

Hiro Matsuda choking out Johnny Weaver and making him bleed from the mouth before (I think) starcade 87. I thought he was gonna die.

This time that Mike Enos and Steve Doll were having a big match on Nitro. The Diamond Frickin Studd shows up and cuts this weird promo. I swear this happened. I mean, I knew who he was but I didn't know why he was there. I don't know if it led to anything or was ever followed up on.

Repo Man hanging the British Bulldog with his tow rope, and the Berzerker stabbing the mat when the Undertaker dodged his sword.

Ooh, I also remember when the Road Warriors beat up Dusty Rhodes and stabbed him in the eye with one of their shoulder pad spikes, with blade job and everything. Weeks later, Dusty wrested them wearing a eye patch.

DDP's mysterious benefactor. So after Uncensored '96, Page was kicked out of WCW and forced to live on the streets. Cameras filmed him doing all sorts of things just to get by; I remember on one occasion he sold some guy tickets to a rodeo, only for the poor schmuck to realize (after DDP took his money) that the tickets were for a show the day before. Even the Apter mags got in on it--Pro Wrestling Illustrated did a story about Page coming to work for them. The angle ended with a car driving up to Page and someone with a white glove beckoning him inside. Shortly after that, Page was back on TV. Mines around the same time. My first wrestling memory is the DDP vs. Eddie Guerrero feud about the battle bowl ring.

Barry Windham turning heel on Dustin Rhodes at the Clash of Champions in November 1992. I was really invested into that feud as a 7 year old kid, to the point where I couldn't root for either team over the other was heartbroken to see Barry Windham turn. I saw it coming through the buildup but didn't believe he'd turn.

The incredible WCW vs. Battle Dome feud.
Buff Bagwell: "You know Dallas, you made a little mistake when you said the Battle Dome boys are here. To me it looks like a bunch of Battle Dome queers."

Dangerous Alliance smashing Barry Wyndham's hand in a car door and the beatdown they gave Sting. I was terrified as a pup and genuinely upset.

The feud between British Bulldog and the Warlord over who had the more devastating finisher, with a subplot about a Queen Elizabeth look-alike endorsing the Warlord, only to be exposed as a fraud with a leaked backstage video of her joking around with Bobby Heenan. I was scratching my head as a kid when the match happened at Wrestlemania VII and the announcers made no mention whatsoever of the much-ballyhooed stipulation that each wrestler could only win the match by using his respective finisher.
It baffles me that so much story was put into a match that was down pretty low on a stacked Wrestlemania card. And that was back when it was just Vince and Pat sitting around a pool. Now they have a team of professional writers and three hours of live TV a week, and a match like that would get barely any build outside of the two wrestlers exchanging wins on Raw and Smackdown for a few weeks. The PPV match probably wouldn't even be announced until the night of the show.

Barry Windham turning heel on Dustin Rhodes at the Clash of Champions in November 1992. Maxx Payne taking the Badd Blaster from Johnny B Badd and firing it in his face causing him to wear a mask for a few months in the summer of 93. Lord Steven Regal looking for a tag partner and after a hard fought match with Bobby Eaton, agrees to be his partner and takes him shopping and does a makeover turning him into the "Earl of Eaton" in 1995 and forming the Blue Bloods, how they didn't get the tag belts is beyond me. I know, you'd think they'd have held the belts at least one time. I thought they did win that triangle match, but nope.

This may be an odd one...
But I remember a match between Jeff Jarrett and Barry Horowitz of all people in early, pre Mania 11 1995. Jarrett won, but later in the evening Horowitz challenged Jarrett for a title match. Jarrett signed the contract, Horowitz was about to sign...Bob Backlund attacked Horowitz with the cross face chicken wing, then HE signed as Jarrett's opponent, leading to a Heel vs. Heel Backlund/Jarrett IC title match on a special Saturday show before Mania 11.

I just remember it being about whether Warlord could put the Full Nelson on or not and then they had what seemed like a metric shit ton of matches on PPV that year and that's when there was only 4 PPVs..

We all know the angles, moments, matches, etc. that are hyped constantly. However, there are ones that don't really get any love. What ones do you vividly remember from your youth? Try to keep it from your preteen and younger years. Terry Funk putting a plastic bag over Ric Flair's head at a COTC in 1989. Blew my mind as a 5/6 year old. www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3WYee-Q_-QThe Fabulous Rougeau Brothers jumping The Rockers. Summer of 89. Back when tag teams didn't need the titles to be involved in feuds. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCSqAm342OMI'd think the first was widely remembered, though TBS brass would have liked you to forget it. Now the second one! I think the biggest obscure element from that was the new version of the Rockers theme with lyrics. I also think they came out at least once to an instrumental of the updated version.

I looooved the team of Scotty 2 Hotty and Albert and hated when they broke up. And possibly the best explanation for a heel turn: "YOU MADE ME DANCE FOR SIX MONTHS!!!!" At least he didn't come out later and say we didn't need an explanation. Not an angle per se, but I recall WCWSN showing a Davey Boy Smith match taped during a UK tour, and Eric Bischoff on commentary...doing a British accent.
