WrestleMania IX: When Savage said 'greatest WrestleMania ever!', I believed him. Then I visited Wrestlecrap, and that was that.
Final Fantasy VIII: Everyone I knew loved it, so when I went on the internet, and saw all the hate, I was shocked.

I was just talking with my cousin about Star Wars Masters of Teras Kasi earlier. We loved that game as kids but it gets a lot of hate online. I guess it wasn't a very good fighting game but I never got tired of doing Luke vs Vader. You're the only person Ive ever met in my life, or online, that even mentioned that game. What was it like? What made it so awful, the controls? I'm not really sure what was so bad about it other than obvious stuff like ps1 graphics. There was a Tuscan Raider character named "Hoar", that alone makes the game awesome in my book. The special moves didn't seem any more complicated than Street Fighter's but then again, it's been over a decade since I played it but I had gotten very good at it. Maybe it's unforgiving to new players. Maybe it did suck and I was just blinded by my Star Wars fandom, but it never gets brought up positively online. Until now. Hoar.

I also loved the Wu-Tang fighting game on PS1. People rarely bring it up in a positive fashion, but i played the hell out of it. It also had a great soundtrack that you could play in a CD player. I used to freestyle over the instrumentals on the disc. It's a severely underrated game. I think it's the first 3D fighting game that supported 3-4 player fights. I have no clue why people hate on it.

People hate Skyrim? I thought the general consensus was that it was a quality game. Everyone brings how the game was broken , glitchy and unplayable Easily one of the best games I played though I always thought the glitches were over-complained about. The only really annoying glitch I encountered was one with a follower for a quest where he kept following me around, getting in the way and pissing me off until I finally completed his ridiculously difficult quest. Although to be fair, that might not have even been a glitch since I know in the last games you could get followers who follow you until their quest was done.

Watched Teen Titans Go! on a whim the other weekend, really loved it. Was surprised that there's such a vocal hatred of it from fans of previous cartoons. I really enjoy Teen Titans Go! and think it's downright hilarious more often than not. The fanbase of the original Teen Titans animated series can be an aggravating bunch, because they hate Go! for being a deviation of their Teen Titans, yet their Teen Titans was a complete deviation from the Wolfman/Perez comics I grew up on and they couldn't care less. Basically to me, when your preferred version isn't even the original, what room do you have to hate other iterations? Man of Steel. A lot of people seemed so hate it but I absolutely loved it and I'd consider it one of favourite superhero movies. I agree. I think Man of Steel was fantastic, especially the performances by Henry Cavill and Russell Crowe. I think it was a great modern retelling of Superman and did the characters justice. I also didn't mind the death of Zod because as others have pointed out, killing him was the responsible thing to do, even if it wasn't the noble thing to do. I thought they did a great job showing the effect the choice to kill had on Superman when he collapsed in saddened anger. I took his anguish to be more about him having to kill the only other Kryptonian in existence besides himself. To me, that made his pain far deeper, and far worse. He's severing the last living connection to his home, and his people.

I'm a huge fan of the original Teen Titans cartoon and I can tell you that I don't hate Teen Titans Go for being a deviation of the original comics. I hate it because the characters are stupid annoying jerkfaces(mostly Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Robin. Especially Robin. I want to stab him in his stupid face.), A lot of the humor feels forced(Waffles? Really?), and it's played all the damn time! It's pretty much the new Johnny Test of Cartoon Network. I really wanted to like the show and I did at first, but over time I've begun to resent it's existence.

Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy. While the third one was kind of shitty, the first two are easily amongst my favorite comic book movies ever.
I also enjoyed Amazing Spider-Man 2, and didn't really get all of the hatred for it.
I wouldn't go so far as to say I loved Scrappy Doo. But he was always one of my favorite characters on Scooby Doo as a kid. And most kids I knew even preferred the Scrappy episodes.
I was pretty shocked to find out how hated he was once I read about it online.

While I wouldn't say I love this episode, but the Doctor Who episode "Love and Monsters", I thought it was fun and something different but I came online and it's often listed as people's least favourites.

While I probably would have given Superman an alternative from killing Zod outright (maybe a blow breaking his spine), it was still executed in a way that stayed true to who he was. He's had a number of stories in the comics where he was forced to make tough choices, but Man Of Steel was the first time ordinary people (probably mostly familiar with the Reeve Superman) outside the comic scene were exposed to it, and it caught them off guard.

Eminem's album "Recovery" Eh. I was fine with it at first but now that Em has shown that he can still do significantly better with MMLP2, the album really falls flat. It's just boring more than anything. Fine but nowhere near the kind of album you'd want someone of Em's caliber to drop. Still, after the miserable Encore and Relapse albums, "fine" might as well have been "great."

This is hard to say, because I can't think of things I truly "love" that get a lot of hate. I can think of some things I like or appreciate that get a lot of flack, but that's kind of different.
I'll go with this - The Nintendo GameCube might be my favorite video game system of all time, based just on number of all-time favorite games on it. I mean, I can objectively say the SNES is better (and that one may be my favorite if I give it more thought), but between Eternal Darkness, Skies of Arcadia, Viewtiful Joe, Twilight Princess, Rogue Squadron II, and others, the GC has a bunch of spots in my all-time favorites list. Obviously the system wasn't hated or anything, but it clearly didn't sell as well as its competitors, and a lot of people saw it as a default "secondary" system during that era.
I'll also throw a bone toward CastleVania 64 (and Legacy of Darkness) and Castlevania: Mirror of Fate. Neither are great games in and of themselves, and have plenty of flaws, but I liked the ambition that went into them, and the clear attempts to reclaim some of the "feel" of the original CV games. I was never a huge fan of the Symphony of the Night style games (they're not bad, they just don't excite me much), so I welcomed the attempt, even if a lot of people justifiably find a lot wrong with them.
Eh, throw me in on Man of Steel, too. Didn't love it (definitely thought Pa Kent wasn't handled nearly as well as he should have been), but absolutely enjoyed it.
EDIT: Ha, I just looked at my sig and avatar and now I'm trying to think of Disney theme park attractions I loved that weren't so beloved by others. I'd say the Maelstrom ride in the Norway pavilion in EPCOT, but the outcry when that closed showed it was more than a little beloved. Maybe I'll go with the original El Rio del Tiempo ride in the Mexico pavilion, if only for the opening scene going by the Aztec pyramid, and the native dancing sequences.

Teen Titans Go! is probably the one cartoon where I have absolutely no idea why it's supposed to be funny. Granted, I don't really understand the humor in a lot of cartoons today like (Uncle Grandpa comes to mind), but everyone on Teen Titans Go comes off as so unlikable that it stuns me to know that it's the #1 show on Cartoon Network.

The funny thing is most people prefer MMLP2 over Recovery and I'm the opposite lol , MMLP2 just didn't do it for me , kinda enjoyed the solos on SHADYXV more

I like that idea, just for a paralyzed Zod bumping into superman's legs repeatedly, while spouting dramatic sayings. As superman leaves his fortress, there's Zod in the background in futile pursuit, blowing into his straw to make his chair go.

Freddy Got Fingered. Yes, it's a stupid movie, but it's meant to be stupid.
Duke Nukem Forever.
I'd post more examples, but honestly, I'd be here forever if I listed every movie, game and music that people hate but I like.

Not really surprised by it, but I always get a laugh over how pissed off people get by Dave Meltzer. Someone on here once said it's like hating Ned Flanders, which is kind of a perfect way to describe it.
