So in the world of WWE, friends, family, tag partners, allies etc always (more or less) end up turning on one another eventually. Heyman turned on Brock in his first run. He turned on Punk a few years ago.
Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar are fantastic together. Lesnar is actually an entertaining promo but it works having someone do the talking for him, with Lesnar doing the ass kicking. It helps that the guy doing the talking for him is Paul Heyman; the guy is unbelievable at speaking. Just unbelievable. I've rewatched so many if his promos from the last 18 months or so. He is mesmerising, and with that hulking, terrifying brute of a man, grimacing and smirking beside him, it just works.
Also the fact that they are real life friends, and it is obvious that they are, and obvious that Heyman is such a fan of Brock, all means they have great chemistry. Another plus is on Lesnar's limited schedule, it is highly beneficial to at least send Heyman out there when Brock is not appearing. That's what they have been doing and it works excellently with Heyman advocating for Lesnar and putting his feuds over huge.
However will Wwe, if Lesnar is a babyface, split them up? Heyman is brilliant at playing unlikeable characters, whereas Lesnar is so unstoppable and badass that fans want to cheer him, I know I do.
To me, they don't have to split them up, ever. Why can't they keep the same dynamic of them being friends (Brock jumping in the Borkmobile to come to the rescue whenever Paul is in trouble) but with them both as babyfaces? The night of Wrestlemania when Heyman took the mic from Garcia and introduced Brock ("Ladies and Gentlemen...") got a huge pop. The audience knows what a captivating personality Heyman is. The night after Mania when Heyman cut a face promo, sharing a ring with Lesnar, declaring Lesnar wanted his rematch was epic. A wrestling article recently stated Lesnar and Heyman feuding will one day be inevitable and a ready made storyline. Why? It's already been done for a start. And why in Gods name would Heyman turn on Brock? Heymans character believes and knows Brock is the most unbeatable man in the company.
My point is Lesnar is a heartless, ruthless bastard and Heyman is a slimy, manipulative weasel, but I want to cheer for them. Together. BFF.
