Holding either title today basically guarantees that you're career is going nowhere fast (see: Barrett, Ziggler, Sheamus, Big E, Kingston, Miz, Harper, Rhodes, etc.). Between spinning wheels ad nauseum, or just jobbing to high hell, the best you can usually hope for is getting repackaged and put into a notable tag team. Sure you probably won't go anywhere, but it's better to work with scraps than cling to mold.
So between the two, which is the worse fate to have?

I don't know why everyone who wins King of the Ring has to dress up like an idiot. the only guys who ever made that work were Owen Hart and Booker T. I mean, Steve Austin won and he wouldn't be caught dead in that ridiculous get-up.

I don't see a Kevin Dunn option... We''re talking individually targeted poison, not company wide poison.

Neville and Zayn are still uncertain if you honestly ask me. Owens, we'll see after the chamber
If you think what Cena did to Rusev helped his career, then you can gladly have that Kool-Aid...

Rusev was a mid carder before feuding with Cena. Yeah, Cena probably beat him a couple times too many, but now Rusev would be credible as a contender for the World title. And as for Neville, Zayn, and Owens still being unproven at this point, you have just disproven your own statement. Clearly, wrestling Cena hasn't been poison to their careers.

The Intercontinental belt. Over the years we've all seen champions turn to jobbers while holding it, but now it's trying to end careers!

And as for Neville, Zayn, and Owens still being unproven at this point, you have just disproven your own statement. Clearly, wrestling Cena hasn't been poison to their careers. Rusev as a credible contender for the world title implies he'd ever get a shot at the title, and you and I both know that wasn't happening, and won't be. He was going for the IC Title before his ankle got screwed up, which is going to make matters worse for his career. Cena butchered this guy's career. That and the shitty gimmick matches along the way. He should have won the damn Chain Match.
I meant unproven to the point that none of them have proven to be helped by Cena yet, if they fall then obviously, Cena didn't help them, if they succeed, obviously, I will be wrong in these instances. Keep in mind I WANT Neville, Zayn, and Owens to succeed but I'm not banking on Cena getting them to the promiseland, because Cena is the last person to do so for a career.
