"Amiibo can go take a running jump at this point. After the abysmal mess that was Wave 4's launch, and the continued benefit to scumbags that these things provide, I'm done.
Splatoon was the final straw - a great game in its own right, with amiibo functionality that genuinely justifies the "glorified DLC" accusations I've defended amiibo from in the past. It's kind of worse though - because it's DLC for only a lucky few."
(LANGUAGE WARNING, AMIIBOS DRY HUMPING EACH OTHER, DISTURBING IMAGERY)

I just finished watching this, and I have to say, finding Amiibo's where I live in Australia isn't that hard. I saw the Splatoon Amiibo's in every shop I went to this past weekend, full shelves of them.

While agree with his overall statement.
The splatoon ones are the most common one I've seen in stores... except for the Squid which is part of the 3 pack.
Hell I saw more of the Splatoon Amiibos than Splatoon the game over the weekend.

What wasn't mentioned in the video is that part of the reason there was a shortage in some areas of Britain is because some people supposedly stole a truckload of them. www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2015-05/27/amiibo-shipment-stolenAnd now that Nintendo is in bed with Universal Studios that should be the plot of the next Fast and Furious movie. In which The Rock hires Dom and and his gang to take down a ring of daring Amiibo truck thieves.
