When the brand extension was in place, we all know Raw had HHH and HBK for the most part leading the show, soon after joined by Cena.
Smackdown though, when you look back at that era, who was Mr. Smackdown during this time?

A lot of those guys weren't on SmackDown for a chunk of that time. So I guess the default answer would be Taker.

Taker, Edge and Mysterio were actually there for most of that time period, as opposed to someone like Brock who only did 2 years.

Taker. Easy. He was a staple of SD from 04-2010. Usually a good match, too...

I'd say Mysterio. He was often the highlight of Smackdown until his body finally gave out on him.

I barely watched Smackdown over those years, but every time I switched Smackdown on, Edge seemed to be on screen holding the World title. So him.

Edge. There an argument for Taker being a bigger star, but Edge was around more, and the storylines were usually booked around him during this time.

Taker. Zero question about it for me.
I preferred Edge on Raw, and the whole Vickie thing really ran its course after the first few months for me.

Teddy Long, playa! HOLLA HOLLA!! Legit... he's who I remember first when I think of SD's glory days.

Taker NEVER LEFT SmackDown, and remained omnipresent in the main event at virtually all times. Edge comes about second (he'd be third and Angle'd be second, if he hadn't left for TNA) as a member of the SmackDown Six turned perpetual Big Bad of the Blue Brand.

This thread is reminding me of how angry I was when Booker got traded to SD (I just plain did not enjoy watching the pre-taped show with the crappy blue stage lighting) in that stupid HHH thing, and then never came back to RAW until the very end of his run, only to get run out of the company by HHH.

HHH was so unbearable at that time.
